Hi all I wanted to leave this review today. My boyfriend and I went to lunch at #mosscreekfishhouse in Pearl. We have been here several times and we always enjoy the food and service. Well today was no different! We got there at about 11:15
We were seated and greeted as soon as we walked in the door. The dining room was crazy crowed but we got the last table. Our waitress was Brooke , she took our drink orders within a minute or less and served them very quickly. We were not ready to order so she gave us a minute But did not foget and came back a few minutes later and we were ready.
My bf got the pick 2 combo of 5 catfish and 5 shrimp, fried okra, french fries and hushpuppies come with $ 17 (awesome price in our opinion) I am not a seafood person so i ordered the chicken strip platter hushpuppies come with and I ordered fries and paid the extra $2 for my other side to be a side salad $13. (It was big and full of veggies)
Well I posted pics,The food came so quick I didn't even pay attention how long it took. The food was alot for the money which was awesome ,we brought home leftovers so now we have dinner covered. My bf said the shrimp was hot nicely battered and not heavy grease but very good. He got 3 bites from one shrimp so the size was very good. The catfish was hot and moist the batter crisp not hard or crunchy but perfect. The fried okra was fresh and fried hot you could tell they just cooked it and he was very pleased. The chicken tenders were very hot and juicy and I loved it. It was not greasy it was battered nice and flavor was great. I bit into it and juice squirted out lol it was that juicy and tender. My side salad had a ton of tomatoes and cucumber and cheese . Usually when you get a side salad it does not have as much tomatoes so i was pleased. The only problem I had was I wish the bowl was wider or bigger not portion size but for more room to move the salad around when I ate it. The tartar sauce they make themselves and it was so yummy I dipped fries and okra in it as well as hushpuppies! Brooke came by a few times to ask if we needed anything and aslo would peek to check our drink level without constantly asking. She was great, pleasant and very nice!
Food - 5+ Atmosphere - 5 Service - 5 Cost -5 Flavor 5 Likely to go back- 5++++ Any negative - just the bowl for salad needed more room to move around
I loved my...
Read morePLEASE DO NOT GO HERE!! There are several reasons as to why but the visit today sealed it for me. I was part of a group of 10 who waited an HOUR for a table. Once we received a table the waitress comes over with an attitude. We were still getting seated when she started inquiring about the size of the party. Once informed there will be 10 she leaves without saying a word. She returns with a chair and proceeds to ask for drink orders. I have been to Moss Creek and knew the food was horrible so I wasn't eating or drinking anything. I was only there to fellowship with my party. After saying I wasn't ordering the waitress asked me again what I was getting with an ATTITUDE and again was informed nothing. The food is extremely bland. Poor excuse for a seafood restaurant. She gets to the next person who was trying to decide on what they wanted. She apparently didn't want to wait and left without saying anything. At this time I feel no money was needed to be spent here. The party however was still going to stay but wanted a different waiter. We stopped another waiter to ask for another table. He went to go inform the manager who could careless. I see this from where I'm seated. The rude waitress returns and we informed her that we were wanting a new waiter. She says RUDELY that we would have to leave her area. If you have ever eaten out then you know this policy which is common in most restaurants. It's not rocket science. At this point we feel DISRESPECTED. I go to the counter to speak with the manager who is ignoring me and couldn't be bothered. A sorry example of a manger!! As I am speaking with him the rude waitress jumps into the conversation and begins arguing with me on rather or not she was rude. I go back to the table which decides to go elsewhere. There are several restaurants in that same area. I would recommend going to those establishments. We went directly across the street to o'charleys. The service was great. The food was better. The menu has more variety. They also serve catfish (which we ordered since that was why we went to Moss Creek. So if you want tasty food and great service AVOID MOSS CREEK. It's not there. If you want great service AVOID MOSS CREEK....
Read moreMy husband and I have eaten here on 3 occasions as we are not from the area. Our first encounter was amazing. The food was hot and flavorful, the tea was just right and the server was friendly and very attentive. However, after our second visit it all went down hill. The servers remain friendly and attentive, but the quality and quantity of the food has faltered! We realize we won't always have a good experience so we decided to give them a chance to impress us again. We stopped in during the lunch hour on today and as usual the service was friendly. On the other hand our meal was a HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT! The fish looked like something ordered from the children's menu. The food was not hot nor flavorful. When my husband paid the check the lady asked about our experience. He was honest about the disappointment with the food and instead of an apology or an attempt to turn this experience around, she said "Well that's my only complaint today." This experience today will be our last. To the woman who took my husband's money: Don't ask paying customers how their experience was if you only plan to respond with condescending remarks. Customers keep your doors open and keep your bills paid. Social media is a useful platform for advertising but word of mouth still reins supreme. I will no longer recommend anyone to this establishment...
