I had a great buying experience at Iowa Bike Co. I had done my research on the model of bike I was interested in before going into the store, so I had a bunch of questions to ask to the lucky salesman who waited on me. I walked into the store and about 15 steps in, I was greeted by Kris. Couldn't have asked for a better salesperson (later found out he's the owner) to work with. He was very knowledgeable about the type of bike I was looking into purchase. He answered my questions thoroughly and added that my bike of interest came with a frame and wheel warranty from Trek. This purchase was quickly becoming a no brainer for me. I traveled 2 hours to test ride a bike and left with a bike purchase that I am extremely happy with. I brought my daughter’s bike in for a quick tire fix and when I came back to pick it up just 20 minutes later, the repair tech had resolved not only that issue but had gone above and beyond to identify and resolve other simple fixes on the bike at no additional charge. He returned her bike in a much more functional state! As a single mom to 4 kids, this blessed me greatly! The staff there was so friendly and kind and helpful! I asked questions about a bike rack installation on my van and they did the research and responded super quickly so I can begin working on a plan for that as well. Read moreI took my bike in for 2 new inner tubes and nothing more. I was quoted that it would be around $40 and if it was more they would call me before. I arrived to pay and they tried to tack on an extra service that I had already declined when I dropped off. The sales associate then proceeded to guilt trip me for not paying for the work I never asked for. The only reason I’m not giving them a 1 star is because he ultimately did take the service charge off but only after trying to bully me into paying for it.
