We visited Pella, IA during the Tulip Festival and it was beautiful! We were lucky enough to get a place for three days and enjoyed our stay. This windmill is in what I believe was called the Sunken Park. It was surrounded by tulips, had a bit of water in the middle of the park, a short walking path and some benches. Smaller than the main functioning windmill in the center of town, but still a really cool spot. Fortunately we had a great weather day!

So so lovely were the tulip beds everywhere. I especially liked the walkway where name plates were in front of each specific type of tulips. I was disappointed we couldn't get into Jaarsma bakery as it had a line a block long, for hours, till close. I would suggest more seating for elderly and those who can't stand long.

Pretty little park not far from the city square off of Main Street. Nice path through the park with flowers (tulips during tulip time), a small sunken pond, benches, and a windmill. The pond is in the shape of a wooden shoe.

We didn't go inside the windmill, but walked the trail that led to the log cabin. Along the trail (which is not very long, but winding and pretty) there are plaques to read that tell the story of the city of Pella. I enjoy reading about history and learning about the places that I visit, so...
