We were coming down to stay in Pentwater for the night while returning from the Mackinac race . Needed to fill up with diesel, checked the website, fuel dock said open 8:30 am to 8pm. Pulled up at 6:45 pm, no one around. Went to the office and asked if we could get some fuel for our planned 6am departure. Nope! Fuel dock closed on a Friday afternoon, no explanation. Actually got a lot of attitude instead of compassion for our predicament. Tried to calmly explain that we needed fuel for our crossing to Chicago (125 nautical miles), were greeted with hostility. No sense of public duty . Instead of getting back home at a reasonable time Saturday evening, we will now be getting home late Sunday.
Not my fault they chose to knock off early on a busy summer weekend. Will never, ever, patronize this place, will make sure all our boating acquaintances are aware of the ridiculous treatment we received here. I'm sure they will all skip Pentwater as a cruising stop from...
Read moreI don't like to leave bad reviews, but we feel other's need to be aware how this marina can treat fellow boat owners. They put fixing our boat on the back burner all summer even though we stored with them all winter. At first they claimed they were backed up a couple weeks. We said no problem, we understood and just asked them to put us on their list to which they agreed in May. We messaged them June 12--again we got the runaround but we still said to add us to their repair list. On July 13 after we reached out again, we were told via text message, "you're welcome to call around & find someone to anyone to work on it. We really don't want the job because of the level of difficulty." To top it off, they sent us a $250 bill for storing our boat in their storage yard while we were on their "repair wait list" for two months! Absolutely disappointing. Thankful we got our boat repaired by West Coast Marine (Pentwater) are now at Harbor View Marina...
Read moreI stored my 29ft boat on a trailer with Snug Harbor winter of 2022. When I got it home May of 2023 I found 3 scratches on the radar arch and one of the outdrive water pump covers was caved in and broken. The boat had no damage when I put it in their building but something before I picked it up they had moved it in a different building. Right after I found the damage I emailed them pictures and got no response so I called a few days later. They denied the damage but said they would get back to me. I waited 2 weeks and called again. This time they admitted causing the damage and said they would replace the broke parts. Another 3 weeks went by before I called again. They said they needed the model and serial number so I provided it. After several texts with the owner they never took care of it. I paid $1,400. to store it with them and got a damaged boat. Never going...
