CURRENT REVIEW: We JUST got home from a long weekend visit to the Hexagon (again), and so I'm adding to my review from a year ago (and will mark the older review accordingly). Of all the places my youngest son has ever lived or visited, he chose the Hexagon House as the venue for his wedding (which tells you something about how welcoming this place is); because he previously had stayed with us there, and it's where he and his (now) spouse first became romantically involved. So this weekend he and his wife, his brothers and their partners, my mother-in-law, and my wife and I all gathered for the ceremony. It was a PERFECT experience from start to finish. The weather was spectacular; but even more important were the many efforts both large and small that Brendan and Michell went to, to make this event smooth, stress-free, meaningful, personal, and just all-around wonderful. Not only were the accommodations first-rate (as always) and the breakfasts delicious (again, as always), but they helped arrange everything from the flowers to the officiant to the setting up of the gazebo where the actual ceremony itself was held. The two of them are just THE most kind, friendly, and gracious hosts imaginable! We all walked away from our stay filled with joy from the experience, but heartsick that we had to leave. We are counting the days until our next visit. THANK YOU Brendan & Michelle, for giving us a family bonding experience we ALWAYS will remember!!! :-)
REVIEW FROM PREVIOUS YEAR: We hadn't stayed here since pre-pandemic, or since it changed ownership, but finally had the opportunity to do so this past week. And Michelle and Brenden (the new owners/hosts) were ABSOLUTELY DELIGHTFUL. My family and I stayed in the "Carriage House" - and everything was just first-rate. Bed was EXTREMELY comfortable; shower was GREAT; and the entire space was pristine. And QUIET!! SO wonderful and relaxing. Michelle was incredibly friendly, helpful, and accommodating. Two examples: (1) our first morning there, one of my family members overslept, and missed breakfast. Instead of doing what 99.9% of BnB owners would do, and simply write him off (ala, "you snooze you lose"), Michelle made him up a special tray with an entire breakfast - complete with china - and gave it to me to take to him. Who DOES that!? (2) one of our family members has a nut allergy, and Michelle meticulously prepared separate servings for him - and then the SECOND day, we arrived at our table to find that she had made sure to not have any granola on his fruit/yogurt cup, just to be safe. SO thoughtful and meticulous! Speaking of breakfasts, they were DELICIOUS (the southwestern frittata was a special standout)- and especially the TEA that Michelle made for my wife (which apparently was incredible). Special baked treats were left in the lobby in the evenings for snacks - I helped myself to fabulous carrot cake bites. Oh, side note: the STAFF was equally friendly and kind - SO warm and welcoming! All in all, just an A+++ experience all the way around; so much so that while checking out this morning, we inquired about staying for a week...

We chose Hexagon House for a rare getaway without our kids. We had never stayed in a bed and breakfast and wanted to give it a try.
Everything about this place is so thoughtful. The house and grounds are absolutely stunning. Our room had everything we needed, and more! We especially appreciated the complimentary goodies they left out for guests – there were always little baked goods and a small beverage fridge with cold drinks. We are OBSESSED with their cupcakes. And we appreciated the champagne they gave us to celebrate our anniversary.
My favorite part was the wraparound porch. It was nice to sit and read, and cozy up with a blanket.
It's also in a great location. It's only a 15-20 minute walk to downtown Pentwater, and we took advantage of that on several occasions because we really liked walking through the beautiful neighborhoods surrounding downtown. We also checked out Silver Lake Sand Dunes and a few points of interest in Ludington during this trip, and both of those things were only about a 20 minute drive away.
We fell in love with both Pentwater and Hexagon House, and we'll definitely be back. Thanks, Brendan and Michelle, for a...
Read moreWe booked 2 rooms at the lovely Hexagon House for our out-of-state visit. When my sister and I arrived, the owner, Brenden (who is a delighfule man) greeted us and gave us all the details we needed for our stay. Our 2 rooms were perfect. Comfy beds and chairs, water to drink, our own little porch area to sit and see the beautiful property and even a bottle of wine! No details are spared with this beautiful place. Michelle (owner), makes you the most wonderful scones and muffins and they are available at all times. The breakfast she creates is amazing and elegant-and so delicious. There are books available to read and a quiet, relaxing environment to enjoy. Pentwater nearby offers food and shopping and the beautiful lake to sit and watch the boats. You MUST visit Hexagon House when you go to Upper Michigan. After enjoying all the amazing outdoor hikes, swims, boating etc, etc, you can go back to tranquility and the best trip sleep you will ever have.
