I called ahead about brining in a large donation and asked if i needed an appointment, (this used to be a thing) I was told no appointment was needed anymore and to bring in my donation whenever. I said “ok, I have like 5-6 bags” and the girl on the phone told me that was fine. I drove 45min. to the store with my 8 month baby, carried in the bags 1 by one and never once did anyone say anything about them being in garbage bags… UNTIL I carried in the last bag. that’s when they decided to tell me that actually don’t take anything in garbage bags anymore. I voiced that that would have been nice to know on the phone and I explained that I had one reusable shopping bag in the car but that i’d have to fill it in trips. The workers seemed to have an attitude and were more focused on gossiping by the register than helping anyone trying to drop things off.
I filled the reusable bag once and waited 10 min. went back in… once again, with my baby. and they asked me to carry all my bags back out and fill them in the parking lot for the next 5 bags. not in the store. this was when I changed my mind all together and asked for everything back. It was clear that somehow I had annoyed THEM and that I probably wasn’t going to get offered a decent price for my things… IF they even actually went through any of it. Tall blonde girl working seemed to be the only one with any manners, she offered to help carry my bags back to my car since my hands were obviously full… but the rest of them remained gathered by the register gawking over a group of teenage boys.
I understand that rules/policies change. I just think that should have been voiced over the phone when i was already asking questions about donations, or at least b4 i made 5 trips in and out of the store with the bags. 5 girls standing around doing nothing while watching a mom carry multiple bags in and out of the store put a sour taste in my mouth but it seemed like their goal was to make my drop off as difficult...
Read moreWent in tonight at 7:01 to see about selling some of my son’s clothes. As soon as I walked in with my basket Hunter, the “manager” said we are done buying for today. When I asked Hunter what time they stop buying she told me 7 and I said it’s 7:01 and I drove 40 minutes from Fremont. Hunter told me it’s the policy and she can’t break the policy because then where does she draw the line? Hunter said what about the people that come in at 7:05 or 7:10 to sell? If she makes an exception for me than it wouldn’t be fair to all the other people. What people? There was not another soul in the store, no other clothes they were looking at to buy and 2 employees working. Bottom line is they didn’t want to be bothered. It was 7:01! Owners should be mortified to have employees like this working in their establishment. These employees don’t have the experience or maturity to make the appropriate judgement call in this situation. It makes your business look terrible. After I left I read the recent reviews of several other customers who have had negative experiences and made the decision I also need to share mine so the owners or managers can be aware. The owners need to step it up and get more involved in their business before their employees drive it into the ground. Very poor customer service. Policy or not, that shouldn’t even be an issue, the point is your employees had the opportunity to go above and beyond and provide great customer service but chose to do the opposite and therefore left me with a negative experience. Businesses like this don’t stick around long. I’ll be sticking with the Plato’s closet in Perrysburg from now on. It was 7:01,...
Read moreAbout a year ago I would have given this store a lot more stars. I loved their items, it was a good mix between buying “new” items and thrifting. However, the last few times I went in the employees were completely disrespectful. This made the experience not enjoyable and most of the time frustrating. I would walk out excited enough about my items that it was worth it, but this past time was my final straw and I will not be returning…
I brought in a box of some of my nice clothes I no longer fit into but most were bought within the last year. We watched as the employee never moved my basket of clothes. After waiting for 45 minutes I finally asked her if my clothes were ready and she said they had been done for a while. They didn’t want any of my stuff because it was old and out of style. Which I didn’t care about them not taking my clothes, but I watched her not go through my basket (so how do you know what’s in there?) and she was incredibly rude in her tone of voice. Since we were in this store for so long (simply waiting) we heard this same employee do the same thing to about 3 other customers, talk about customers, and be so rude to others. Then I stood at the counter waiting to purchase an item while she ate food, got on her phone, and was talking to someone that came in to her visit her. Finally, the other lady working noticed that she was ignoring me and checked me out. After buying a couple items, my boyfriend and I walked out completely shocked. I will not be returning to this store...
