Good evening Google Family. I visited for the first time today after getting out of my Lyft ride. Happy Labor Day everyone. I treated myself to a nice movie. I was waiting for the door to open after departing my Lyft ride. The doors were not open. So I killed time and went into the beauty supply store. The nice store owner gave me a bag since I told him my bag was falling apart. They were 50 cents but they did not charge me for them. So then I went back to the movie theater and they still were not open. I know I am early. My movie, Weapons, does not start until 1:30 pm. I made another video while I waited. I saw a security guard from Allied Universal security services, where I used to be employed. Now my nephew, Christopher, works there. The apple never falls far from the tree. The young security officer kept me company while I waited. While we were talking, the young man movie employee opened the door. Hallelujah!!! now I could finally put down my stuff. I had so many bags, the bag from the hair store, my personal bag and my drink thermos bag. You have to walk upstairs to access the movie. They have stairs and no elevator, or escalator. People with walkers, canes or wheelchairs would not fare well here, since they might have an issue with the stairs. They should have other options for people who have mobility issues. I feel they should install an elevator or escalator and limit it to people who have mobility issues. I went upstairs after I got my bags arranged. Before that I made a video of the inside of the movie theatre. Then I made my way upstairs. The young man employee scanned my q r code on my phone. I love ordering my tickets online. It is so quick, easy and convenient. Anytime I patronize a movie theater, that is what I do. I have been ordering movie tickets online for a long, long time. It definitely expedites everything. I asked the young male employee where the rest rooms were and he told me. I was so grateful. there was no one in the ladies room. I had it all to myself. Now I could finally get my bags together and arranged again, LOL!!! The rest rooms were so nice and clean. way to go AMC!!!!! It was nice and big with two handicapped stalls. That was nice. Shout out to Anya and Keron, who were the nice employees who assisted me with my small popcorn purchase. After eating my food from Wegman's which I snuck in, I then left my seat and purchased the popcorn. Anya and Keron, who had opened the door, were so hospitable and friendly. I really appreciated Anya's smile. I found my seat in Theater number 3, which was D15 and then I placed my items on the seats. Thank goodness, there was no one else sitting in that row. They came later after I came back from purchasing my small popcorn which was $9.79 and the tax was 79 cents and the total was $10.58. Everything is high now!!! That is why I only purchased a small popcorn. I usually purchase a large or medium, but they were too high. Weapons, was ok. It is a horror/mystery movie. I will not give away the plot. I will say that I will never attempt to see this movie again. I had a good experience at this movie theater. I would return again. I liked it way better than the movie theater, Cinemark on Walnut Street, which I visited on Fourth of July. Cinemark's seats did not recline, but these did. I reclined and watched the movie. Have a good night Google Family, workout, be healthy, fit and Fabulous!!! Also they did have a parking lot, but I am so glad that I decided to take a Lyft. Good night...
Read moreI went to the AMC Broadstreet 7 in Philadelphia to see an 8:30 PM showing of Aquaman in 3D. The staff there is the worse I have ever seen. The cashier I checked in with asked her co-worker Jamal to give me a pair of 3D glasses. He told her, "They're over there" and went inside the back room and never came back out as I stood there waiting for the 3D glasses. Finally, one of the staff members gave me a pair of 3D glasses but the packaging was slimy with grease. I had to go into the restroom to wash the package. The lights in the auditorium stayed on through the trailers.
I was the only person who purchased a ticket inside this auditorium. Some of the staff came in to watch the movie, which I wouldn't mind but they kept talking during the movie. By the end of the movie, they were screaming and shouting. I kept telling them to be quiet, but they just kept screening and shouting so that I couldn't hear the dialogue. The two girls, one chubby and one with braids, also made fun of me and laughed at me for asking them to be quiet. I don't know if they were drunk or high. They didn't leave until the movie ended.
I sat through the end credits because I wanted to see if there was a post-credit scene. As the credits were rolling, the two girls came back in and told me I needed to leave because the movie was over and it was the last movie. I asked them if there was a manager on duty and told them they would be fired. The girl with the braids lied that there was no manager on duty. They had security kick me out and one of them pushed me from behind. They didn't even let me use the restroom. While I called the police, they made racist comments about me.
All of the staff need to be fired or I will be suing AMC Theatres for this assault and racist treatment. I don't know if they targeted me because I'm Asian or because I was alone. I think they waited until the movie was almost over to scream and shout so that it would be too late for me to ask for a refund. I have been an AMC A List Stubs member for many years and I am shocked by the way I was treated. The only other time I had been to this location, a guest kept talking on his phone during the movie and when another guest told him to take it outside, he threatened to shoot the other guest. As crazy as that was, it's even crazier that something similar would happen again but coming from the staff this time! If they are not fired, I cannot go back there as I would be at risk of being assaulted and mistreated again. I would have to file a lawsuit, go to the news media, and get every Asian American organization in the...
Read moreI am writing this in order to communicate an incident that occurred yesterday, March 22, 2019 at 7:00 PM. On this date I attended the screening of "US" at the AMC Broadstreet 7 theater and was physically assaulted by staff. During the movie I was approached by two staff members as I attempted to use the bathroom. They were aggressive and told me that " If I was not on my best behavior something would happen to me." Our brief interaction was captured on the cameras in the theaters. After I reentered the theater, the same two security staff members approached me. They told me I had to leave because I was "too loud." I listened to them and allowed them to escort me out. In the dark, on the way out, I my sweatshirt was torn and I was punched in the face. As I attempted to leave the establishment another security staff member approached me and said that I was "not going nowhere, but jail." He grabbed me, punched me, and ripped my sweatshirt. I was then surrounded by four or five officers and handcuffed. They sat me on a bench and returned my glasses and wallet. However, they refused to return my iPhone. This situation is extremely unfortunate. I am a peaceful individual and I was assaulted by your staff members. As I am writing this, I currently have a swollen jaw, busted lip, and torn sweatshirt. I am asking for a refund because I did not see the movie and for my iPhone to be returned. All of my interactions with your staff have been captured on camera. I never once attempted to resist them but they still beat me up. Return my iPhone and refund my...
