Came here from OC, California hoping to get a traditional REAL PHILLY cheesesteak and just wanted to share my experience is based on service alone. Service 3/5. Food I give 5/5. Ranch rating 5/5! (Iykyk). Atmosphere is casual fast - right next to a college campus. Parking is hit or miss. Metered parking and parking garage is nearby.
The young gal at the counter was extra spicy today and not sure why. Not very welcoming or appreciative of the fact she had customers on an otherwise slow and boring Monday evening. When we asked her opinion on cheese type she fired back stating it’s bUiLd YoUr OwN with a spicy attitude. Obviously we can hear you. We asked your humble opinion on what is common or what she prefers. I always love to ask the wait staff what they love so I can be sure to try it too!
We reiterated it was our first time and she snapped back with a smirk. Very shocked. Asked for a water cup, after dropping $55 dollars on random menu items to get a taste for their menu fare and she was extra quick to deny our request even though we’d also ordered a single fountain drink. Our child doesn’t drink soda and we don’t buy bottled at restaurants because it’s unnecessary when it comes right out of your soda machine.
Service here I’m giving...
Read moreWe got 2 cheesesteaks (with provolone cheese) and fries, to go. Fries were good, a little soggy after walking home. they could vent the fry boxes a little better.
But the cheesesteak was bland and "dry". It didn't have remotely enough cheese---even with provolone, it was hardly even noticeable there was any cheese on it at all. And it wasn't very flavorful. Where's the seasoning? Where's the onions? I said "cheesesteak with everything on it, whatever that means" and she said "well, it's just meat and cheese". And that's all it was. Felt like I was eating a plain boiled beef hoagie or something. Not a good cheesesteak.
I'm sure i'll try it again sometime and i'll gladly improve my rating if the next time is better. Always happy to give a place near me a second chance. I'm a trained chef, but I'm not too picky and I'm realistic. I mean no disrespect beyond constructive criticism. But this was just unacceptably bland. Put me in their kitchen with their ingredients and I'll make you a better cheesesteak with my eyes shut.
My girlfriend took a few bites of hers, threw the rest away and ordered a pizza to get...
Read moreI have been to this Broad St location numerous times and I always have the best food and experience. HOWEVER, this time that I visited on 6/01/25 at 11:30am, I was waiting at the counter for 5 minutes, and I look to see if an employee is aware that I am standing there and this lady walks up and has an attitude. I told her I was picking up my food and her tone was even worse than the eyerolls that was giving me, she said "well are you gonna pay?". I was like "yeah of course, when you tell me how much". I don't just swipe my credit card without knowing the total. She handed me my food and said nothing else, not a "have a good day" or "thank you for business". Not sure if she is a new hire, but she needs to be re-trained on customer service because she is horrible and makes me not want to return or do business here again. I have never had an issue with any of the male employees. I hope a manager or owner sees this review because I have been a loyal customer for...
