Hillstone Homes — Attraction in Phoenix

We built our home back in 2018. I waited to give a rating since it is important to know how the house stands to the test of time. Out of the 4 homes I purchased and built this one has got to be by far the WORST quality home I have lived in. Overall, the quality of work done to build the house is likened to the level of an unprofessional unlicensed contractor. As we began home renovations post purchase, thing after thing kept coming up that required us to dump more money onto our projects just to medigate the cheap, corner cutting construction that was done on this home.

Someone stated in their review they are like cheap apartments, I second that! I have never lived in a home that was this cheap in quality and work. Others mentioned the unprofessional manner of the workers, which I also second. I never experienced as much gaslighting and dismissive behavior as I did working with this company to build our house. This isn't buying a burger somewhere, it is a home purchase, somewhere to live. It's a large purchase that most people can't afford to do. At least have the decency to provide the best quality in both the construction and customer service.

To any prospective buyers, go with a more reputable company like Shae, Taylor Morrison, or Woodside. This isn't one of thoes "little guy," companies that deserve a chance.

EDIT: We tirelessly worked with the builder to correct the work even after moving in. However they were gaslighting us the whole way saying we never brought up any issues each time we asked for corrections and to revisit issues we brought up during the building process. Seems like they don't even remember how bad the situation got and escalated. Downgraded to 1 star because that response shows how incapable they are of learning from their past...

Have had some of the worst experience with the air conditioning and flow was suppose to have a return duct in down stairs bedroom never added now 2. Years. 8 months into this house air conditioner downstairs broke have to replace condenser had other problems with this house would. Like a rebate if possible won't happen so many things went wrong we had to fix ourselves and have builders fix after the fact now the unit went out slap stick work I thought I'd add to this review. We moved in in November of 2018 and we just had to have a new air conditioner. Put in all the duck work done in our upstairs. Re done we had to pay thousands of dollars to fix. Chase Roberts mistakes for something that 6 and a 1/2 years old.We shouldn't have to put that kind of money into a home That's a new build. We also paid $6500 to have the insulation redone. We have to have the old insulation removed.And what and new insulation put in?It looked like somebody took paper and shredded it in our attic. I complained the whole first year about the upstairs. Air conditioner not working and we got some of the stupidest excuses ever like you? Only put 1 person in the room. Make sure your bedroom doors are open after we have the whole duck work done and new air conditioner. Put in somehow we can have the cold in the bedrooms, so we don't have to have the door bedroom doors open duh it was done correctly the second time. But not by the builders that made this house or chase Roberts.Whoever they hired the worst people ever to...

Worst home builder I have ever encountered. The owner does not care for his company, only the money it brings. If he cared he would have been the first person to jump when there were severe issue with our process that he had been made aware of. I have contacted him on numerous occasions and he is either too busy, flat out ignores me, or gives a small one sentence response that brushes away my complaint. He is so removed from "the little people," that he will not even show up to any HOA meeting that our subdivision has. Even though he is the president and on the board AND the ONLY person that can approve decisions for our community.

Learn from my mistake, if you want the owner (Lou Turner) to be held accountable for any promises made by the super you need to submit a complaint with the registrar of contractors. Other subdivisions in Hillstone Homes may have competent superintendents, if not you will be screwed. Lou and the super did not care about quality and they showed that they did not care to listen or to help.

The only reason I did not give Hillstone Homes one star is because of the sales team. They are very nice, understanding and are always willing to lend and ear if you are having problems with your home...
