I have been coming to Native since I was a little kid, starting with the location on Brown & Mesa drive in Mesa. I will tell you that over the years, it seems like the quality of the wings have gone down. The size of the wings as well as the way they prepare them have diminished significantly.
I stopped by this location off the 17 and just south of Peoria. It was during lunch and fairly quiet for lunchtime. I sat at the bar as I normally do and I ordered a tea. I was greeted promptly with a smile and a couple menus. I get my normal Ice tea and look at the Wing Section of the menu. I notice they have the same classic flavors as well as a few newer ones. I opt for 10 piece, splitting my order between the classic "Honey Hot" and regular "Hot" flavors.
It does not take long to get my food. Maybe 6 or 7 minutes, which seems a little odd for wings. Usually it takes 9 to 10 just to cook them properly. I get the wings and half of them look fresh and the other half look like they have been sitting out for a while and reheated. I grab one of the "Hot" flavored wings and it was indeed soggy and had some sort of batter on it. it tastes like they microwaved the wings and tossed them in sauce. I was disgusted but in a rush, so I ate them first, saving my "Honey Hot" for last. I grab a Honey hot and it was much better. Little to no batter on those wings and they were fairly crispy. Not as crispy and good as I remember them being, but way better than the hot wings. I eat them all and get a phone call so I had to leave before I could provide the staff with feedback.
The staff has always been pleasant and nice at all locations, including this one. My low rating is based on the fact that 1. It was not busy, so more attention could have been paid to my food. 2. The wings were sub par and way soggy. 3. I am almost positive they reheated half the wings in a microwave.
I might give this location another go, but if the wings are just as bad... I may never come back. There are a lot more options around here if you love wings. I wouldn't say my lunch was ruined... but It did leave a bad taste in my mouth, figuratively as well...
Read moreI was introduced to Native via a friend who lives in Anthem and my experience was great. I was excited to learn that it's close to my home on 26th Ave off of the 17. I placed a to go order and understanding what our planet is going through I anticipated there being a time variance due to ordering, staffing, general chaos. The order took approximately 30 minutes past the date. Again, anticipated and understandable. When the food was brought there was no thank you for waiting or any acknowledgement of any kind. The communication let me a bit upset but the bag smelled good so a sigh of relief that the wait is over and I let it go. I got home and eagerly opened my bag and unfortunately the food looked horrible. Everything was overcooked. Drenched in sauce to mask the appearance. Under cooked would have been understandable at least because that would mean getting orders out quicker. No, this was over cooked. To me says that it was completed and sat for too long. Wings are one of your most commonly ordered items, hell it's in the title of your name. Unfortunately quality control and pride is not on the menu here. Money earned and paid for a product, good or service should be an equal exchange. I am saddened that people lucky enough to still have a job at this location does not ensure that every customer is felt appreciated during this time. I will not be doing business with this...
Read moreArrival time 8 PM Fri: i was on the way to Red Lobster all you can eat shrimp...but I saw all you can eat Fish Fry $15 on the billboard. Sounds good right? The experience sucked. The wait time for food is ridiculously long.
The location was not busy. Each waitress had 3 tables (6 customers total). 2 of the tables had pizzas. It took 6 minutes before I was asked if I wanted anything to drink and i was sat near the kitchen entrance. I made it clear i came in for All you can Eat Fish Fry.
The first plate came with tons of fries and 2 pieces of fish and a super large Caesar salad. You are only allowed 1 piece of fish for refill and it took about 15 minutes per piece to arrive. To top it off, my 2nd plate had a partially frozen fish. 15 minutes to get 1 piece of fish ready and its only partially cooked!! Horrible. Had to wait another 10 minutes.
Every refill of fish came without a lemon or tartar sauce so I had to ration what I had leftover from the first plate.
I was there for 2.5 hrs and got 8 pieces of fish--- i can only imagine how much longer it would have been if the place WAS packed. If they would have provided the normal 2 or pieces, I could have been done sooner. Waitress was really nice; I can't blame her for the management's policies. If i go back, will need to make sure to set 3 hours aside for the all u can eat fish. Lots of tv with different...
