Bad Review: Shangi-Lodge Pico Rivera.
Shangi Lodge is legally listed as a motel/ long-term stay, yet they illegally enter guests rooms (daily) "No need for room service today" is not an option, they aren't offering "room service" they conduct "room checks"
*False Advertisements:
Shangri Lodge hangs a huge Banner outside that reads: "Senior discounts/ monthly rates". A monthly rate paying guest would be considered a long-term tenant. Due to the Tenant's Right's Law of California, Shangri Lodge Employees do not have the legal authority to enter your room if you do not wish to be bothered (sleep in, leave your items unattended)
If they do attempt to enter your room illegally or when you are away, you have the legal rights to call the Pico Rivera Police and report the incident. Under California state law this is your legal residence if your mail is sent here.
*USPS Violation's:
if you are receiving your mail and staying at Shangri Lodge, by default this is your permanent legal address. Under California state law, anybody who is receiving their mail, has the legal right to deny entry to anyone including law enforcement officers, unless there is a search warrant stating otherwise. Shangri-Lodge does not have the 'legal right' to enter your room, go through your belongings or deny you the right to have a guest visit within a 24 hour day.
*Daily Illegal Entry of YOUR Room:
Upon the daily entry of your rented room, Shangri Lodge, does not provide written notice in advance that they will be conducting a "daily search" of your rental. Unless a life threathing issue has arised, there is no legal grounds for entering said room(s) unwelcomed.
*Targeting Immigrants and Seniors:
Shangri Lodge target's the elderly and low income immigrants, because they do not know the California State Laws that protect their privacy rights regarding their rental unit being invaded daily.
*Health code violations:
Bed bugs, mold and mice are found in every room at Shangri-Lodge thus the turn around rate of the tossed out mattresses.
*Guest & California State Violations:
Guest's federal mail is intercepted at the front desk. (Usually by employee Xiomara G.) The United States Postal Service nor any other Delivery Service is allowed to deliver to tenants, without permission from Shangri Lodge staff.
*Isolation of Seniors:
Shangri-Lodge denies Guests the right to have visitors, denying senior citizens the legal right for family member's to come visit for wellness checks. If you are on Shangri Lodge property, you will be accused of "trespassing". This allegation was tested in 2012; an undercover conducted an investigation as to guest complaints. The partner of the guests staying there was chased off the property for "trespassing"; was interrogated as to why they were there. "Visiting a friend" was recorded as the visitor's response. "You're trespassing, you have to leave!" was recorded by the responding staff on record.
*Harassment by Staff:
Security guards and staff routinely follow Guest's around the "common area's" of said property. Something no respectable establishment would do to a valued guest. Imagine going to the Hilton and having a staff member follow you around the lobby; questioning what you're doing.
*Room Review:
The rooms are half the size of a standard motel room; very old, dilapidated and often have power outages on the property. No remodeling of any of the rooms at this establishment for many years as it still looks like it did from the 1980's era. The hot water does not last for more than 5 -10 minutes with low water pressure. Bad oders follow.
*Health concerns & Infestation:
