The Dolly Parton Experience — Attraction in Pigeon Forge

This is an incredible new exhibit at Dollywood. The park had been missing a true Dolly experience. There is the replica of her old house, her tour bus, and things she experienced growing up. But there was definitely an opportunity to showcase Dolly a bit more.

This experience does just that! There are several different exhibits within the experience. Once building is a tour through Dolly’s life. There are pictures, videos, and lots to read. It’s kind of like a museum of Dolly.

Her tour bus is still available to look inside. They’ve moved it from where it was before they built the Dolly Experience, but it’s still in the same general area. It is very cool to see how she spent her life on the road. It’s like peaking inside her home. It’s also a history lesson to see how technology has changed - she had some things in the bus that were probably high tech at the time.

Then there is the glam exhibit. This building has so many of her dresses, wigs, and fun things for kids! You can see her old outfits, learn how they were made, the reasons behind the designs, and so much more. And it feels very “Dolly” inspired in there - a lot of pink and butterflies.

The whole area takes less than an hour, and it’s in air conditioning. The bus only allows a few people on at a time, so there’s a good chance of having to wait outside in the sun for a bit. But everything else seems to have no lines.

This exhibit is something that can not be missed on a trip to Dollywood. Dollywood needed an exhibit focused just on Dolly. And afterwards, you can get a burger at Reds and then...

First off I want to say this place is amazing, a lot to read & look at but so worth it. My reason for 2 Stars is the way they handle the drink situation. I totally agree with not being allowed to drink in there. My issue is where they expect you to place your beverages before you enter. You have to place them outside around the corner from the entrance. No one is watching your drinks, anyone can steal your cups, bottles, etc. My biggest issue over this is that anyone can put anything in your drinks, which is extremely dangerous. I hope that management sees this review and seriously takes into consideration of making a safer place for people's drinks at this attraction. I will change to 5 stars once something is done about this issue. I know I'm only one person but I would truly hate to hear of someone that put their beverages in the shelves around the corner and some psycho put something in their beverage(s) and when that person/child took a sip of their drink then has an reaction to whatever was placed in that beverage.
