Just posting this as a WARNING lol! This gym is SO outdated. It’s giving senior home facility. Lol Some machines are okay but it’s very small. It’s not worth what they charge at all. I only signed up because I will be going to other AF locations and wanted a super chill gym for shorter workout and more cardio.
I came in to inquire about a membership Nov.11 at 11:00 am. Sierra Hillman gave me a short tour. She seemed friendly and seemed to grasp what I was looking for. I let her know I had a friend that also wanted to sign up. She let me know she would give me a “deal” and broke it down to me. There were some pretty unprofessional comments. She asked for my instagram account because she said she will no longer be working there in a couple weeks due to having a college degree. That this job was not for her and she could do better. Then proceeds to let me know she’s good friends with the GM Jamila and that she would put everything under her name. I still wanted to sign up so we booked an appt.
I came back Nov. 18 11:15am and she was a totally different person. Barley greeted us. The first thing she said was “Are you here to sign up or what’s the point?” Totally threw us off. LOL She proceeds to be rude and very dry. It was extremely bizarre behavior but we figured she must be having a terrible day from the looks of this place. I would be mad too. My friend asked her “So we would pay $120 to sign up all together today?” And she responded “where did you get that number from?” My GOD. I had to start recording part of it because it was WILD. They charge $70 for a key fob alone. This specific location is owned by a totally different person from other Bay locations. We worked out and staff was not friendly at all. It was clean so I’m happy with that. We called Orinda and Berkeley and even Alameda. Different owners. Completely different experience. Orinda was SO welcoming. According to several AF managers at other locations, Pinole has the worst reputation. Sign up through one of them and you’re still able to come here....
Read moreI am so satisfied with my experience at this gym. The gym is very clean, with a good arrangement of free weights, equipment and cardio machines for its size. Out of the other Anytime Fitness locations in proximity, the Pinole location is the most well-maintained. Most of the equipment is Hammer Strength, so you can expect your machine to be functioning properly. They provide clean towels, snacks, and large amounts of sanitary wipes. You can tell that the management actually cares about their members. The environment feels comfortable, non-judgmental, and is rarely crowded. However, I’d say check the app to see when peak hours are, as the amount of people can get a bit overwhelming around that time.
Another nice perk is that the key fob gives you access to any Anytime Fitness nearby, so you have 24hr access at all nearby locations. This has come in handy quite a few times!
A bonus for those who have had poor experiences with nearby gyms: I’ve had a great experience with the staff. They’re kind, understanding, and most importantly… non-predatory. Talk to them yourself, you’ll see what I’m talking about. Such a positive experience is rare, and something that drove me to leave this review.
Overall, I’d say it’s a great choice for who prefers a small, comfortable and clean space for...
Read moreI've been to quite a few locations in Northern California and also quite a few locations in Southern California and also a few locations in Hawaii Honolulu, of all the locations that I've been at, this Anytime Fitness location has been the best one so far. Not simply because what they offer, it's the atmosphere of the gym itself. At the pinole location is the most welcoming gym that you can ever go to, at this specific location is where I felt the most comfortable in my journey to find what worked for me at the gym. This anytime fitness location has a special place in my heart, that's where I discovered who I was in the gym world. You can tell by the amount of passion that the employees in Pinole anytime fitness have by their effort that they put into understanding the people that come into that gym, and then only the effort that they put into the people that go into the gym it's the effort of the cleanliness within the...
