Michaels — Attraction in Pinole

I usually find buying stuff from Michael’s a treat. However today I purchased an online order for in store pick up. I waited a few hours and received no pick up ready notice so I called the store. The Woman that answered the phone said that she closed the online orders out earlier in the day and that all orders after that would be for the next day pickup and she had no idea I purchased anything for pick up. I said to her so no one was going to notify me of that. She said that was not her problem that was ITs issue not hers. I then said so maybe online is not the way to purchase from your store then if you won’t even know of any purchases when you close it out early and she insisted it still was. This is an in store pick up not a delivery I don’t feel that is valuable nor quality service and her rude combative attitude was extremely unprofessional and unpleasant. Unfortunately I will never purchase in store pick up from there again. I’m also going to let others know. I needed something and trusted that it would be fine as I was led to believe it would be. This store has always been a place for me to go when I just want to surround myself with happiness and creativity. No matter your skill level or amount of time you have, you can always find some type of craft project or hobby to do at Michaels. The store in Pinole, CA. is not the biggest but it is well stocked, clean, and the online inventory is kept up to date. The staff is the main reason why I like this store so much. Whether I'm coming in for a bit to browse and get ideas or running in 10 minutes till closing to pick up my online order, the employees are never rude or rush me. I know some employees have been there for quite a while and it's nice to see a constant friendly face. My last trip to the store I didn't realize my pick up order was missing a item, so I went back the next day to ask about it. The only reason why I’m giving this place one star is because of one of the managers. She belittles and does not respect her staff as well as the customers. I was being helped by a great staff member who explained the process of using a coupon, meanwhile, her manager, Kathryn, kept looking our way. She kept starring even though she had her own customer to help. I asked the cashier why she was starring and said most likely it’s because she doesn’t allow anyone to do separate transactions. I told her I didn’t like it and I felt targeted because she kept starring at me and nobody else. She even paged her cashier asking if she was using the coupon twice. I was just appalled. I felt terrible and also did not like how she kept observing me and her cashier. The cashier looked as if she was scared of her and well, I could see why. Michaels shouldn’t have a overbearingly controlling manager. They shouldn’t let someone with a terrible attitude work...
