This place is like a H Mart on steroids. They have products for many different Asian countries, including China, Philippines, Korea, Vietnam, and many more. You can find any saws, condiment, or fresh fruits and vegetables. Albeit, sometimes the quality of a few products could be a lot better. Just as a case in point, I bought three coconuts to make Puerto Rican coquito and they were all bad when I opened them. Of course with coconuts it is really difficult to know before you open them. Most of the other fruits and vegetables I have bought their have been fresh. I also like the fish department as they offer a variety of fresh and frozen seafood. This includes, wild caught seafood which is my preference as opposed to farm raised. They have a houseware I which sells quite a variety of different cooking utensils, pots, pans and kitchen necessities. They have a pretty decent cooked meal area where you can get them, amazing fried fish, rice and other Chinese delicacies. They have a number of really good Korean products including kimchi in their back freezers. You can find many exotic chips, cookies and snacks. I have tried quite a few of them, including the more fishy flavored ones. My favorite part is all the different Lays potato chips varieties that they offer which we normally would and fighting in ShopRite or other supermarkets. If you're looking for food for a recipe that calls for these ingredients you can't go wrong visiting and purchasing things here. There is available parking in a lot of different places as this is part of a larger shopping plaza that includes, Lowe's Home Store, Panera, Aldi, and a few...
Read moreI made a bad experience at the meat counter a good while ago, when they sold me a pork tenderloin that was salt-brined to either mask spoilage or prevent it from getting spoiled. It was extremely salty and inedible. Since they have a rather extensive selection of Asian spices, sauces, condiments, etc, I kept shopping there sporadically. Hoping that this was a single incident, I recently bought a sliced roasted duck and a rack of pork ribs. Both had within 2 days a totally funky rotten smell, and had to go into the bin. As others already commented on, their pre-packaged sliced roast duck contains a lot of bony chunks with no or little meat, while breast, thigh, etc are clearly missing parts. Their seafood counter also has a fishy smell - in contrast to other markets like H Mart etc. I only can conclude that they must be very 'relaxed' with food safety and general hygiene. I'll still go there for my canned/sealed Asian goodies, spices, etc, but not really for the 'fresh' stuff. I also do not like that they start shutting down their business way before closing time (at least 30-40 min,...
Read moreThe prices here are very reasonable and I like their selection of seasonal fresh veggies and fresh fish. The store is not the most "polished" in terms of presentation but it is decently clean and well stocked. The quality is good, though towards the end of their stock cycle things can look a little stale, however, if you aren't afraid to mix the good with the bad you can pickup their manager special quick sale bags for a couple bucks to prepare that day or freeze. They also have a wide selection of pantry/dry goods, sauces, seasonings, and traditional Asian cookware. Their prepared foods are also pretty good and I recommend the roast duck and roast pig. The bakery is small but makes tasty sweet or savory treats and cakes (can be made to order in advance) just like the ones in Chinatown. I shop here regularly and enjoy...
