Quality chocolate and an excellent selection. Mon Aimee has chocolate from virtually anywhere in the world. You'll find some from Europe (France, Germany, etc), South America, Africa, and even some local brands like A519 and Lux Chocolate. They also make their own chocolates and truffles.
Parking can be a bit of a struggle. There's a space near the macaroni factory, though. I tried their coconut toffee macadamia nut truffles, 5 pieces of A519 assorted bonbons, and a Ritter Sport milk chocolate bar with raisin and hazelnuts. The Ritter bar (a German brand) reminds me of the Aldi milk, raisin, and nut bar, but in a good way. Creamy chocolate and plenty of raisins.
The bonbons were pretty standard, but what truly made them stand out was not the taste: it was their beauty. The design is truly excellent! The craftsmanship is evident. Their own products are great, too. It was chewy and moderately sweet. The Lux almond, macadamia nut, and coconut bar is also very nutty. It's not quite chocolatey and rich for me, though. Only element of the store that was a large drawback was the price: it's not cheap. But, it's great chocolate for gifting...
Read moreI have purchased products from this establishment several times, and each time I go, I am met with the same attitude of indifference. Besides unpleasant service, the English toffee did not meet my quality standards. It tasted stale. Also, other items in the store are overpriced. If you want an excellent product and pleasant service, walk past Mon Aimee Chocolat on the strip in Pittsburgh. The French name, Mon Aimee (my friend), is misleading. In summary, save your money. You'd have a better experience buying chocolate in a fish market. It doesn't please me to write a less than flattering review. The first negative experience you chalk off to a person having a bad day. The second bad experience you begin to see a pattern. The third bad experience confirms your initial thought. Satisfy your chocolate craving in a place that...
Read moreI really enjoy stopping into Mon Aimee. It's a cute little chocolate store located in the Strip District with a decent selection of specialty chocolate. They carry some really delicious locally made Pittsburgh chocolate (Lux milk chocolate caramels are heavenly) as well as a large selection of imported chocolates, many of which are also delicious. I've stopped in twice during Covid and I've appreciated that everyone is wearing masks and that they have a hand sanitizer located once you walk in - which they nicely ask that you use once you enter.
My reason for taking away one star is due to the cramped space - it can be pretty hard to walk around as it feels like you're constantly going to knock something over.
Overall, if you're someone that has a sweet tooth or are looking for a unique gift I definitely recommend a...
