Very, very nice cafe. Great spot for a relaxed breakfast or brunch, with many of the breakfast classics and some of their own delicious spins. They are best known for their ricotta blueberry pancakes, which I tried alongside their croissant breakfast sandwich. First, the pancakes. These were definitely quite good. Tons of real blueberries (whole little pieces) all through a fluffy pancake. And, they make their own syrup as well! I will say, I would have preferred a stronger ricotta flavor to cut some of the sweetness. But, they were still very good pancakes. The croissant sandwich came with egg and cheese, as well as a side of home fries. They cooked the eggs perfectly, and included just the right amount of cheese. Their default is a fried egg (you can see they got the yolk just right), but personally, I prefer scrambled eggs. You can ask for scrambled eggs for no charge, so next time I will do so. It was a super flavorful sandwich! Really nice and buttery croissant as well. The potatoes were also very good. Cooked well and seasoned to perfection. I’m surprised as to how much flavor this side had! They salted it quite a bit too. All in all, I really liked this spot. Nice portions (the croissant was huge and so were the pancakes), prices were reasonable, and quality was excellent. Would definitely go back!

Food was fine, but I could have made the same thing at home easily. But what made me mad was their bathroom policy and selective enforcement. We were sat right by the stairs that lead down to the bathroom. A mother and her daughter were about to walk down when the hostess stopped them and told them it was for customers only. The mother said they were going to buy something. The hostess told her that they need to buy something first. The mom and daughter left because they couldn't hold it long enough to stand in line. If you've been here on a Sunday morning, you know the line to buy food is about 20 minutes. How does the restaurant expect people to hold it that long? I understand having a customers only bathroom policy, but with a wait that long to buy food, they need leniency. After the mother and daughter left, the hostess was joking to the cashier about they expected to use the restroom without paying. Then I saw multiple people go down and use the bathroom before they got in line. Why didn't the hostess stop them? I won't be going back

I dined at cafe Raymond on 6/28/23, as I had just googled breakfast places near me. The servers were super nice & accommodating, atmosphere was good, sound moderate (I was able to send a few work emails). My food came within 5-10 mins as the restaurant was steady but not super busy. I like the ordering format: place your food order, pay, then sit & eat, as one of my pet peeves is extended wait time for your check after eating 🙄. The food was ok, nothing to really write home about (the hot sauce was good though). I got the 2 egg breakfast & a bottle of OJ for about $20! I didn’t like the fact that you couldn’t get a glass of water with lemon, or a glass of OJ, but had to buy a bottle of water/OJ. Looking at other reviews, it seems this is a frequent dislike across the board, maybe the owner should look into more drink options.

My husband, sister and I came for breakfast. We ordered and only upon receiving the receipt were made aware of how overpriced the food was. I ordered a side of eggs ($4.99; 2 eggs for $2.50 each), an extra egg ($2.00) and a single side sausage patty ($4.00). I decided to order a la carte instead of ordering the “2 egg breakfast” because I didn’t want home fries and am gluten intolerant, but the a la carte was MORE expensive for significantly less food. My husband went downstairs to clarify why this was and see if anything could be done about the price. The cashier simply repeated “it’s because you ordered a la carte.” We decided to get a refund because we couldn’t justify the prices (for cafeteria-like service in a cold warehouse atmosphere).

Upon requesting a refund, the owner came out to yell at us, demanding that we “get out; if [we] don’t like the price then don’t order the food!” We replied that the prices are not stated ANYWHERE. He scoffed and shouted (lying to my husband’s face) that they are on the menu. My husband checked the printed menu in addition to us all ordering off the wall menu and the prices are NOT listed on ANY menu available in the restaurant.

He continued to bark that we should go open our own restaurant, go pick the eggs up from the farm ourselves and then we could decide the price. He yelled in our faces that we are welcome to buy the restaurant off him if the prices aren’t fair. He aggressively accused my husband of “abusing” the cashier (apparently by asking about the price discrepancy), and continually yelled at us and OVER us while we tried to receive our refund.

I’m in absolute shock about the way we were treated at this establishment. Never have I been yelled at in front of an entire restaurant by the owner for asking for a refund for food that had no prices listed anywhere. We were on the fence about deciding to leave, thinking that maybe we’d just pay $2.00 for a single egg and be done with it, but after seeing the way the owner went out of his way to come and find us to bellow at us, I’m glad we left because it was embarrassing and obscene.

I’d like to add that we did not raise our voices or speak rudely to the staff. We simply requested a refund because no amendment would be made in regards to the issue of being charged more money for less food. The ONLY time we had to raise our voices was to be heard over the owner, who continually and publicly berated us, and literally wouldn’t let us finish any of our sentences. This experience was honestly surreal.

The inflated prices, lack of service, and cold, unwelcoming atmosphere were one thing... but the behaviour of the owner was unlike anything I’ve ever experienced. The latter and the latter alone is enough for me to say nobody should ever support this...

Great food and thought it very wonderful that the owner ran it locally and also hired his own children! Great place to visit and to eat if you do come to visit the area! However, I recently applied and was employed for a couple days at this business. From what I gathered, they have a hard time keeping employees (huge turnover rate). That's acceptable going into the situation believing that maybe the right people cannot be found. I accepted the job with this challenge and the only issue I see arising in my short employment, was my first day and I was unable to find free parking and had to feed the meter every two hours so I did not get a ticket. I get the frustration from an employer for that, don't get me wrong. The employer from this business however, did not pull me aside personally but yet decided to scold me on my very first day about lack of responsibility and business mentality for NOT scoping out the situation before hand (in front of the entire staff). Okay, I would get that however the response I did get about the parking situation was only a mere hour MAYBE 2 before my official start time. I did what I could and hoped for the best. My second day, I worked and picked up things easily, worked the shift, was told to go after I did what I could with knowing what I knew for closing. No big deal. Went home thinking I had two days off before I went in for the busy days on the weekend, received an email the following morning about not being put on the schedule any longer. Okay. Well, I was already scheduled for this weekend so I respond in acceptance about this situation but inquire about what I might have done wrong and if I should still come in during my scheduled weekend shifts. Did not get a response to that, just blocked with no answer. It only bothers me because the owner of the establishment decided to pull me aside my very first day (in front of all the other employees) and tell me how irresponsible I was about my parking issue but YET decides to terminate my employment without valid reason or even a slight response to the matter. Just fair warning is all, great place to eat and visit but if you cannot even respect people in the least, how do you expect to actually survive as a business? You cannot complain about lack of employment when you terminate perfectly good candidates without reason. It doesn't matter how much of your bread was served in the White House. Respect matters and I have heard enough personally as well as other employees that complain about the lack of respect that comes from the owner on even the...

We typically avoid the strip district on a Saturday as everything is so busy, but we had some friends who wanted to meet for lunch, so we agreed. Food was good, but what the place really struggled with was the flow of product and people thru the restaurant. Like many places in the strip, the line backs up at the door and there is a good bit of confusion with folks waiting inside and out. This was no exception. There is a convenient elevator to additional seating. Once we figured out the ordering and seating process and placed our order, we jumped on the elevator to the 2nd floor. We had ordered a coffee and a hot tea, and at the register, they handed us our uncovered hot beverages to carry to the table ourselves. Ok, we could have possibly managed that, but that should not have been part of the experience. As the elevator doors were closing, an unmasked patron jumped on with us at the last second, and as the doors closed, he sneezed several times in the elevator. He tried to turn and cover, but needless to say, we were unable to even look at our drinks after that and asked for new ones. That sure put a damper on the whole experience, and there was nothing else in our visit that said, we have to go back and try again. It's very likely that won't happen. I understand things are busy and places seem short staffed, but there was ample staff visible. It seems as though they have the food down, but would benefit greatly by examining the flow of the ordering and seating process. Even a simple fix as having someone at the door directing traffic could go a long way, but a redesign on the entrance and ordering...
