If this review were based solely on the product, it would be at least four stars. However, I cannot overlook the unfriendliness of one repeat offender.
On one occasion, my significant other and I were in there to buy a bag of their freshly-made flour tortillas, and they were out. The workers who make the tortillas had a bunch made for a big order, and told us we could have one of the bags, as they could just make another batch to replace the bag they were giving us. The young woman, who I assume is either the manager or the owner, overhears what’s going on and more or less yells at them in front of us, “THAT’S A BIG ORDER. YOU BETTER BE ABLE TO MAKE NEW ONES BY THE TIME THEY COME IN TO PICK THEM UP.” First off, you don’t yell at your workers in front of customers. Second off, way to (not) try to accommodate said customers. Nevertheless, we thanked the workers, purchased the tortillas, and left.
On my most recent trip there, I was perusing the drink cooler. That same owner/manager woman, who had not even remotely been near the cooler as she was ringing customers up at the register, all of a sudden rolls over a cart of drinks and goes, in a very low key tone, “trying to put some stuff in there.” Why would you nudge someone out of the way when they’re going to buy something from you? Also, there is a much more tactful way of doing so. But I didn’t even get a smile or a “excuse me.” Basically was told to get out of her way, when I was nowhere nearly in her way to begin with. I still made my purchases but I was very sure with my body language and tone with her at the register to let her know I didn’t appreciate her lack of tact.
I know this place has a great reputation, because it churns out some very good product. But if this is how customers can expect their experience to be, I want no part of patronizing this business...
Read moreThe "dressing" for our salad was bad because they were trying a new recipe, we had been there previously and the exact dressing had been very different and much better. We thought they accidentally had given us cups of guacamole at first instead of dressing. Low stars because of how the chef handled it, not for the dressing itself. The chef came to our table to ask how we liked our meal and when we were honest and said it wasn't as great as before, he basically told us we were eating it wrong because we were dipping our individual bites of salad into the dressing (it was so thick, we had tried drizzling it onto the salad on our plates and ended up with blobs that wouldn't distribute evenly, so instead of eating some bites of plain lettuce we started dipping the individual forkfuls). Condescendingly told us that when we come back, we can just ask the kitchen to pre-toss the salad instead of having the dressing come out on the side. It felt very rude because he seemed to be acting like we just didn't know how to mix dressing into a salad and blaming us, instead of admitting that his new dressing might not be that good. Not going back, unless its for a drink only. Two and not one star because the bartender was great. We didn't even get any drinks, he was just the only employee concerned that the only customers in the restaurant weren't happy...
Read moreThe lady at the front counter treated me, my wife and her family very rudely. We stopped in to get some Latin American food, as my family and I have shopped here before plenty of times. When we walked in, the lady at the counter audibly made a rude comment towards us. I don’t even know who she was talking to, but it was totally unnecessary to say that. We decided to let it slide and try to buy some food and drinks anyway. But the lady at the front continued to make rude and disrespectful comments towards us while we were shopping, so we decided to walk out without buying anything.
If this is the way you treat your customers, who come into your store to buy things and give you money, then they aren’t gonna want to come back. And if your customers stop coming back, no one is gonna buy your things, so no one is going to give you money anymore. I may not have an expensive business degree but this is not how you should treat...
