Studio One Kitchen & Bath Specialists LLC — Attraction in Pittsburgh

Our experience with Studio One was exceptional from start to finish. The scoping team was prompt to respond to our initial outreach, quick to look at our project in person, and timely with a quote. Upon agreeing to terms and signing the contract, the payments were set in four installments.

Our project included: Demolishing a small entry closet to the right of our front door, and installing a new 12' wall across the space, where we would use half the space for a half bathroom, and the other half for a new and much larger entry closet. The bathroom required plumbing to be installed, which dropped down into the basement, and ran 20 feet along our back wall to connect to the sewer stack. Upstairs, all of our bedroom closets were 15" deep, unable to hold hangers, and with poor space usage. We converted 2 of our closets to 24" depth with double hanging rods and a top shelf, and in our 3rd bedroom, built floor to ceiling shelving, as we could not feasibly deepen that closet. Finally, we reimagined our fireplace space by removing the coal-fired insert, cleaning out the interior, removing the dated mantle, and building a floor to ceiling faux wall in front, with studs positioned to easily mount a TV of any size, then covered the frame with shiplap, and reinserted the original cast iron fireplace cover to keep the history of the home.

We can't commend the contractor enough. Ivan arrived every morning promptly at 8am, worked consistently throughout the day and barely stopped for lunch. He was quiet, didn't listen to music, took all calls outside, courteous, respectful, and a jack of all trades. He handled the demolition, framing, plumbing, electrical, installation, and finishing entirely on his own, to perfection. All work was complete in 22 working days, and every hour of the day was utilized. Every working space was treated with care, running dust shield plastic floor to ceiling and floor mats to protect the hardwood/carpet. All debris was hauled away, and there were ridiculous amounts of it from tearing down 90 year old plaster wall closets.

I write this review as a contractor across the street is cursing loudly to a friend on his cell phone, and multiple guys across the street on another house project banter instead of painting the house for sale. We hear stories of people having terrible experiences with their contractors, and feel we hit the jackpot. I'll never take for granted the superb experience we had. Our experience with Studio One Kitchen & Bath Specialists LLC – Richard Evans and Dave Acevedo, SR. -- was very positive and we cannot recommend them highly enough for any level of remodeling or renovation jobs you may be doing. We recently used Studio One to remodel our kitchen and two bathrooms and have been delighted with both the process and the results. They take genuine pride in the quality of the work they are doing. Studio One – is a first-rate company that strives to fully satisfy. These are the workers that truly listened to our needs and made sure to explain all possible options and limitations that could lie ahead. Studio One has done three jobs for us: a "down to the studs" bathroom remodel, a kitchen refresh, and a small follow-up kitchen light fixture replacement job. We worked mostly with Rich on all three. They did a great job for us, helping with design, finding tiles, fixtures, countertops, etc. Installation work was well done, and costs were as quoted. They offered a good mix of expertise and advice as needed, plus willingness to "do it your way" when asked. We felt that they were very honest and professional.
