I am extremely disappointed, disheartened, and angry with the treatment I received at this Planet Fitness location. As an Indian member, I felt singled out and treated unfairly in a way that raises very serious concerns of racism and discrimination.
The Club Manager, Helly Hodapp and an employee named Atron Hogan refused to make simple corrections that were completely within their control. My husband's date of birth was mistakenly entered as 1993 instead of 1992, and my photo on their system did not match because it was originally taken incorrectly by their own staff. Both issues could have been resolved instantly by updating the DOB and retaking my photo – which they are clearly able to do for members. Instead, they insisted they were “not allowed” to make any changes.
To make matters worse, when we went again today (5th day) to check if the issue had been solved, the front desk staff (not Atron Hogan or Helly Hodapp) corrected my husband’s DOB and updated my photo within just 2 minutes. This proves that the changes could have been done the very first day by Atron Hogan and Helly, but they chose not to help us. Why did they refuse, when another employee could do it instantly without any issue? This shows clear negligence, double standards, and targeted behavior.
Why this inequality? Why this injustice? Why were we targeted? I noticed Atron Hogan checking our details in a way I did not see him doing with other members. It is clear we were treated differently.
Because of this, my husband and I have not been able to access the gym for the last 6 days, even though we have paid all fees on time, including the $52 per person maintenance fee. Despite raising a complaint, we were told to keep waiting for days for “Customer Service” to respond. This is unethical, unprofessional, and unacceptable. A minor issue like this should be fixed immediately – not leave paying members blocked from entry.
To make matters worse, our membership was canceled without our authorization. How can a manager and employee take such action on their own against paying customers? This feels like pure harassment.
I am demanding that a senior authority or director personally look into this matter. The staff members responsible – the Club Manager - Helly Hodapp and Atron Hogan – should be held accountable. I will escalate this issue through every possible channel until justice is done.
This is not only about poor service. It is about unfair treatment, harassment, and clear discrimination. Until this issue is resolved and action is taken, I will continue to speak out.
Have attached a photo of a doc, where Atron Hogan's name & his random signature or the real signature, GOD KNOWS could be clearly seen.
This isn't OUR SIGNATURE. If want proof of that, can be done through cross checking with bank's signature. Without our CONSENT, without our AUTHORIZATION, this person has done this act, in 1000000% presence of Miss Helly Hodapp, THE CLUB MANAGER AT 10 SCHALKS CROSSING RD, PLAINSBORO.
Now I get it, why only this location has lowest ratings, If you go and check other locations, they have ratings in 4.5, 4.4 stars.
There are SOME EMPLOYEES HERE, who are clearly responsible for such low ratings at this location.
The owner of this location, If you are reading this, immediately change both of this employees, especially change the CLUB MANAGER, as I can see there are many people who have written dissatisfying negative reviews about the CLUB Manager.

During my recent visit to this Planet Fitness, I encountered some aspects of the front desk service that left me disappointed. In my opinion, the demeanor of the staff member I interacted with seemed unwelcoming and unhelpful. This had a negative impact on my overall experience at the gym.
In my opinion, the staff member at the front desk did not appear eager to provide assistance. My interactions with them were brief, and I felt they lacked the friendly and supportive attitude that I would expect in a customer service role. I would even go so far as to say I feel they were downright rude. This lack of professionalism is unacceptable in a customer service role and greatly detracted from the positive experience I expected at this gym.
It is worth mentioning that this is solely my opinion based on my personal experience. Others may have had different encounters and formed alternative impressions of this front desk staff member.
I believe it is important for a gym to create a welcoming and supportive atmosphere for all members. In my opinion, this includes ensuring all members of the front desk staff display professionalism, friendliness, and a genuine willingness to assist gym-goers.
As a result of this negative encounter, I feel compelled to discourage others from visiting this gym and cannot recommend it based on my experience with this staff member’s unprofessional conduct. It is crucial for a gym to foster an environment where members feel valued, respected, and supported. Unfortunately, my encounter with said staff member had the opposite effect, leaving me with a sense of discomfort and dissatisfaction.

I’ve been going to Planet Fitness for almost 10 years, and I’ve never had an issue like this at any other location—until now.
Today, I was approached by a staff member (part of the cleaning crew) who gave me unnecessary attitude about locking up my gym bag. Yes, there were signs posted, but in all my years of going to different Planet Fitness gyms, I’ve never seen this rule enforced, and certainly not in such an aggressive, unfriendly way.
She didn’t greet me, didn’t ask how I was doing—just immediately confronted me with a condescending tone about my bag. If she had taken the time to be polite and explain the policy in a respectful way, I would’ve had no problem saying, “Okay, I’ll lock it up next time.” But instead, her attitude was completely off-putting and unnecessary.
This is not the type of behavior I expect from staff at a gym that promotes itself as a “Judgement Free Zone.” When someone comes at a customer like that, it usually says more about how unhappy they are in their own role than anything else. The fact that this kind of energy is being tolerated at this location is disappointing.
She’s not even a manager—just cleaning staff—so to be talked down to like that for something so minor was completely uncalled for. She ruined my workout, and honestly, my entire experience at this location. anyone who acts like this is just unhappy with themselves and unhappy with their job. She’s just a bit old woman.
I’ll be taking my business to a different Planet Fitness where professionalism and respect are actually practiced. If you’re thinking about joining this specific location, just be aware of the kind of staff you might run into.
