Could do with more cashiers and a larger check out space, but other than that it is wonderful and we came out of there with 5 (re-usable) bags full of food and miscellaneous awesome goods.
Things range anywhere from $1 to $15 (+/-) a lot of which is $1.50. It's pretty much an Asian Dollar General (only much cleaner, and way more interesting). Some things seem a tad over priced and many things are, in fact made in China (they also have goods sourced from other Asian countries) just like most American-owned thrifty nickel stores, but somehow that really doesn't matter because it's all fabulous.
Saturday afternoon is their busy time, so prepare yourself for random kiddos clogging the aisles and running amok (not necessarily in a bad way) but the place does get awful crowded and having that be a thing can verge on annoying. Most everyone takes it with stride and so should you if you choose to visit during their most popular hours.
The aisles are somewhat narrow so prepare for that. It actually seems like the aisles are wider towards the far left side and in the back than they are in the front... they get narrower as you move towards the registers. When we were there they were stocking a lot of things and boxes were everywhere... I know that keeping things stocked is important but I also feel that they should maybe not do that when they know it's about to be packed as it really hinders the flow. I say just leave it until things die down and maybe attend the registers so folks can leave quicker.
Over all it was an excellent experience. We only encountered one rude lady, but that's life, amIright(?). Everyone seemed pretty pleased to be there...including the employees...they would often come over the speaker to give informative messages about prices and such but were so sweet in their delivery it was endearing and made me want to stay longer.
Bring your wallet because you will definitely find something that you just have to have...like the Ninja doll in my picture (but that's a story for another time). You will be overcome by the amazingness.
4 stars due to the register situation, but 5 stars for the content and employees. I can't give half a star or it would be 4.5.
If you want more depth into the items they offer, visit their website or watch some Youtube hauls to get a taste. Trust me when I say that what you see on either of those is only the tip of the proverbial iceberg.
Okie Dokie, I guess that's it. Happy...
Read moreWent in tonight and bought $800 worth of items.. that's 4 cartfuls. The entire checkout process "Russel" poked fun at us, and bossed around the other employees who were actually doing a good job helping us. He insisted on taking pictures of the transaction and embarrassing my family. But he didn't do much to help the other people waiting to check out. Once we were done, we were given 7 bags total.. 7 bags for 4 carts of merchandise. I asked for more but he told us it was a specific company policy to only give that many bags no matter what because "my bosses are really cheap, they don't like to let people have bags" . Then he followed us out to our car insisting that we hurry so he can have our carts back... but we couldn't load quickly unto our cars WITHOUT BAGS! some of our merchandise was damaged because of what was happening... I asked him as he was impatiently waiting for us to dump all our loose items into the back of our vehicle, "what exactly is company policy on bags?" He shrugged his shoulders and said "oh I dunno, I just know my boss is tight and tells me not to give bags".... this I after he directly told me that a specific policy prevented us from getting bags after buying nearly a grand in items from this store. He then made fun of us and took out carts.. nice job daiso... won't be coming here again. Russel, you're a jerk who needs to learn the gift of customer service and...
Read moreI love this place. I always end up getting way more things than I originally planned on getting. Love this place more than target. Yep, I said it and i dont regret it. The only thing i wish they had was carts that i could place my toddler son. It is hard to walk around and properly browse with a toddler in one hand and a basket in the other. Any mom of a toddler can vouch for that. Toddlers are like lil drunk people minus the alchohol. They are touching everything, trying to run around and throwing themselves around when they get told no, or that they cant do something. The carts would totally help with that. Put the kid in the cart and they cant cause trouble, also moms won't use up all their shopping energy trying to hold their wiggling toddlers. They can use that energy to check out all the great stuff. My favorite section of the store is the little kitchen gadget section and the adorable stuff for bento lunches. Daiso is so amazing, I wish their was one is every city like a...
