I would love to review the food, which I went out of my way to try, but I wasn't able to get any. Apparently they shut the grill off 30 minutes prior to closing, that doesn't mean 29 minutes, that's when I was at the counter. When I approached the counter someone came out of the back and asked what they could get for me, as I looked at the menu, then bluntly told me the grill was already off, no "hey sorry" or "by the way", just matter of fact, I'm still wondering why he asked what he could get for me in the first place. I went out to the car and pulled up the website and after some digging noticed the grill closes 30 minutes prior to closing, that should be more prominently posted. My interaction happened 29 minutes before closing so don't think there's any leeway; I'm curious what would have happened 61 seconds earlier. The gentleman was very curt with no service skills. I appreciate their policies but a simple "sorry, the grill shuts down early, please come back and see us" would have gone a long way, I'm in no rush to go back now.
Atmosphere was quaint, love the old school feel, just didn't have old school Texas manners. I'm a native, I've been in Plano a lot longer than they've been open, just never knew they had food, so this isn't some outside view, I know what hospitality is and they don't have it.
The burger reviews have me tempted but the service...
Read moreWe asked friends where to get a prime rib for Christmas and we were recommended this place. I was really excited since it's a Plano gem. We called ahead to secure the prime rib and they told us to pick it up the day before Christmas Eve. I went to pick it up and it was fairly busy. When I got to the front of the line I told the girl I was here to pick up a prime rib, she seemed confused and grabbed another girl to help me. I gave that girl my name and she went to look for it. The person behind me in line asked if they still had prime rib available & he quickly walked out with his no problem, so I was confused why I was still waiting when I had called in advance. She finally came back & said someone else would be bringing it out. I continued to wait another 10 mins then a man came and asked me all the details all over again. It was clear they never took my order. It took about 5 different people until I finally got the meat, paid and left. It should not take 30 minutes to pick up an order.
Luckily, the meat was very good. I will give the place another chance in hopes of having a...
Read moreWe used Tilly Mama's bakery which runs out of YOBC for our wedding desserts and they were PHENOMENAL. Kaitlyn was incredibly friendly during our initial discussions and when we went to the bakery to do a full tasting, she took all our special requests into account and made us enough of each item (various cakes, cookies, and brownies) to try in store and take home for some of our friends to try as well. Ultimately, we hired them to provide our wedding cake as well as brownies for our dessert table and couldn’t be happier. All the items were delicious, the cake was beautiful, and everything was extremely reasonable in price. Our cake leftovers lasted in our fridge for two weeks until we finished it. We also froze some to take to family at Christmas (1.5 months after our wedding) and it thawed beautifully, still intact and delicious! Absolutely wonderful ladies and wonderful food, so thankful to have had them as part of our...
