I really wanted to have a great experience getting my makeup done here since I saw all the good reviews but unfortunately things just didn't line up. I won't name the artist, but she was very nice, easy to talk to, recommended a great undereye concealer, and I could tell she really tried her best. I think if the store gave her some more support, this experience could have been better.
She did a fantastic job on a gold glitter smoky eyeshadow but even after I had written what brand and shade of foundation I normally use when making the appointment and then told her that I'm often color matched incorrectly (light warm olive). She picked out a totally different undertone (light cool pink). I wish she had at least tried their color matching machine instead of just guessing. Under the store's lights the foundation looked okay but the moment I got to see myself in natural light it was glaringly obvious that she had stopped with a harsh line at my jaw, the foundation was patchy all over, and the color was way off. My elongated eyeliner wing was also very rough on one side and their angles and lengths didn't match. She picked a great shade for my lips but the liner was really messy and patchy again since she just put a gloss on top of liner and asked me to rub my lips together to blend the color into the clear gloss. She also used a bronzer which was a great color but wasn't blended at all, it looked like she had planned to go back to blend but hadn't.
The 60 minute appointment went over by 35 minutes. She put a lot of time into my eyeshadow, which I really appreciate, but I had arrived on time, she had gotten straight to work, and I tried my best to be still and ready for the next step the entire appointment. I had given myself some buffer time to finish getting ready at home but really wasn't expecting to go over so much. I tipped and rushed out of the store only to see how bad the foundation looked.
I ended up going straight home, scrubbing all of the foundation and lip product off, applied my own foundation, blush, and bronzer, and fixed the eyeliner. Thankfully the eyeshadow still looked great.
Also, it would be nice to be told what skincare products were used to prep my skin. She used something that burned horribly.
Since I didn't know this: they do not have products in the back to use for paid services - they just grab the testers that are out and about in the store. I've seen what people do to those testers and my face has already broken out due to the unclean and unsanitized products being used on it. One of my eyes has been horribly itchy since my appointment a couple days ago. If they had a different set of products in the back, I would have my eyeshadow done here again but for now I will not be going back for any...
Read moreIf I could leave no stars, I DEFINITELY would. This store is the ONLY Sephora store that I enter and am constantly ignored. I usually go to the store in Willow Bend Mall but it’s now closed and this one is closer and every time I come here, I literally have to beg for help and wait or am just blatantly ignored. I was SEEN DIGGING through the drawers looking for my color in a product and one of the employees still decided to talk to another lady that was next to me and skipped right over me. I even stood up next to the employee to see if she would at least ask me if everything was okay and NOPE. She continued to offer additional help to the other lady even though she didn’t need it. As a VIB Rouge member, I clearly mean serious business when I walk through any Sephora doors and for some reason this location has never been up to par. From what I have read, this seems to be a common situation at this location and a lot of us (if not all) with such experiences seem to have a little something in common...never have I ever felt so ignored and invisible. Rest assured that corporate was contacted as well. Regardless of how convenient this location may be, I rather make my way to the...
Read moreI came to this location approximately 2 days ago in search of replacing all of my expired makeup. My mother and I walked in and we were immediately greeted. I told them I had a list of items I wanted to grab as well as some recommendations for skin care products. They introduced me to an employee by the name of Dulce. She was just so delightful and kind. Not only did she go above and beyond to help me find the products I was in search of but she reassured me of my natural beauty when she overheard my comments on my wrinkles and pale skin. I have always struggled immensely with Insecurities but she made me feel beautiful. She also helped me find skin care products that worked for my skin. She’s so knowledgeable. Such a bright young girl. It’s so difficult coming across genuine people but I could sense and feel her overwhelming love and care from afar. Since my trip I have looked at myself differently and felt more beautiful than before. I owe it to Dulce for the confidence she gave me. Sephora you are so lucky to have her! I will most...
