So Shady. This business is part of Asurion. Which is a scam. I took two PS5 controllers to UBREAKIFIX Plano on COIT / Springcreek. The person I spoke to advised I should sign up for Asurion Home, wait 30 days, and then bring the controllers back and they would be covered and repair them for free. I signed up and paid the monthly fee and waited 31 days. Once I brought the controllers back they told me I had to file an Asurion claim. Asurion is a scam. In my experience, If you ever have to file a claim they will make the process as difficult as possible. When you sign in to the app to file a claim you have to sign in three separate times. The form they want you to fill out does not self-populate your name, address, phone # etc. You’ll then need to enter various other information, and they want a pic of both the front and back of your driver’s license (remember, you logged in with a UN and PW). Once you upload all of this, they tell you it will take 24 business hours to review. First, they reject the form stating you must print and sign the form even though it says you can sign electronically. If you call their number, they will place your call on hold for a while and initially an automated message will attempt to tie up your call having you answer various questions. Eventually someone in a foreign country will answer your call. The initial person will try to sell you additional services and after you say no a couple times, they will transfer you to someone else. You guessed it, you will have to be on hold again. You will get transferred and placed on hold several more times and they will find a way to deny your claim. What is especially frustrating is you have followed all their directions along the way. They can (and will) raise service fees without any notice. In the end, you will not save any money and have spent far too much time submitting forms and talking to people that lie and misdirect you every step of the way. The company’s employees are dishonest and have no problem lying to you. You can give it a try if you want but you have been warned. Instead of paying their monthly fee dump the money in a savings account. Odds are you’ll be able to buy a new product that’s updated, and you will receive it in a couple of days instead of weeks later.
I'm not going to email you. Your company is a scam. My review is to make other customers aware so they can avoid doing...
Read moreThey did nothing for me. Said my phone had water damage and therefore wasn't under warranty for repair. I've never dropped my phone in water or even gotten it wet so I can't figure out how it has water damage. Very frustrating.
UPDATE to my original review: I took my phone to another repair shop and showed them the picture that UBreakIFix sent to me showing the water damage, and they too confirmed my phone has significant water damage...they recommended NOT repairing the phone but instead replacing it (they don't sell phones, and they aren't affiliated with a phone company, so they had nothing to gain by telling me this). I still have NO idea how it got this kind of damage - the only thing I can think of is I did remember it's a replacement phone mailed to me from my phone carrier - I am now wondering if it was refurbished and already had that damage which has only gotten worse, as the guy at the repair shop said would continue to happen. I am not giving the name of my phone carrier as it's not my wish to unfairly point the finger and say my phone company didn't send me a brand new replacement phone....I suppose I could have done something I just don't remember, but I would think I would remember something that bad (the repairman thought I would have remembered it too). Anyway, I'm still frustrated because I'm the one paying for this problem without knowing for sure that I am the one that damaged it.
2 years later update: I got a new phone but kept my old one. Guess what....it has never died as the 2 companies who evaluated it said it would! Still charges up and works without an issue. And I loved that phone. Wish someone would have taken a chance and replaced the old battery like I was looking to do. No phone takes better pics than...

I have an old Motorola cell phone that the screen started lifting up at the bottom
Edit: some other reviews mention appointments, I did not have one, just googled phone repair near me and showed up
Walked in, was greeted from the back with, "sorry, we will be with you in a minute" and indeed within a minute someone was out front
Gentlemen looked at my phone, pulled up the model because I forgot that long ago, went to his computer and said I don't think we have the parts in stock, but let me double check in the back
Came back out, confirmed they don't (again, it's an old phone)
Suggested it could be the screen itself, or maybe a swollen battery
While he was pulling up what I assume would be time frame to get the parts, I asked also what it would likely cost to fix
Before he could answer, I mentioned I can get a new one (of similar old school phone, but generations newer than my current) for $150 at a big box retailer
He smiled at me, and while sliding my phone towards me, suggested very politely they would be happy to fix my old phone, but I should really consider that $150 new phone
Can't ask for better service from a repair shop when they say, sure we can help but you would serve yourself better not using our services this time
For the record, I don't know if the repairs were going to go over $150 or was just so close to it that if I ever needed to have it fixed again, it would go over $150
Did I mention this is a really old phone?
I don't have the latest and greatest, and never care to
So, if you read this far, great service, couldn't ask for a higher level of...
