To be honest, I was very disappointed with my experience at Painting with a Twist in Plantation. First of all, we arrived 1/2 hour early as the website says you can, but the door was locked and no one was there. When I mentioned it to the front desk guy when we came back at 1:30 he said "Oh, well I got here at 1:05pm." No apology or anything. Then, he proceeded to walk away and only interact with the other people that were already there totally ignoring us.
Our artist, Carla (I think that's her name) was less than interested to be there. She would go up to the stage and quickly show you the next step. Then, she would walk out of the room and go into another to work on a different project she was painting. She seemed bothered when you asked for help or any additional supplies. No personality on that one, nor did she try to make the experience interesting or fun. At the end of the class, we were rudely rushed out the door.
I have done many paintings at Painting with a Twist, 3 or 4 at the Davie location, and 1 or 2 at the Miramar location. They were all fun and engaging. They played fun music, danced, made jokes and engaged with the customers. They encouraged the customers to have fun and played games with us. Plantation was by far the worst experience I've ever had! It was quiet, boring, and uninteresting. Needless to say, I will not be returning to the Plantation store again. If you are going to go to Painting with a Twist, I highly recommend the...
Read moreI'm very disappointed that I have to write such a bad review because I LOVE painting with a twist. I decided to celebrate my cousins 25th birthday here and paint these beautiful glow in the dark lions. When we arrived we thought it was going to be a great time, the instructor had the lights off and it felt like a club atmosphere. Everything went down hill as soon as the instructor started painting. In my previous experience the instructor is supposed to help and guide you so that you don't walk out of there with something you're embarrassed to hang, he's supposed to make the atmosphere lit, get us hyped and dancing. Our instructor didn't help us AT ALL, he gave no instruction on how we were supposed to do anything. If we asked a question it was always "whatever you'd like, however you'd like, do what you want". He kept changing songs we all were vibing to. Usually the instructor offers a free painting for the birthday girl or boy and he didn't even mention one to my cousin. Barely said happy birthday actually and she had a birthday crown on. My cousin didn't even drink any of the wine we brought to sip on because she was so frustrated trying to paint. We felt as if the instructor believed since he could do it we could all do it but that's obviously not the case. Like I said I've done painting with a twist MANY times before and this has got to be the worst experience. She was highly disappointed, we all hate our paintings and honestly it felt like a huge...
Read moreMy first time experience and I was curious, excited, and nervous all in one. Honestly, I thought to myself that this better be painting with numbers. LOL! Until my homegirl and I walked in and noticed the tables set with all things except anything showing we were painting with numbers. Nonetheless, you walk into a chill environment where you are welcomed with good lighting, music from pop to rnb to hip-hop, and dancehall/reggae. The music was a vibe. It was a small class of about 12 people. You get your paint, brushes, easel, napkins, and aprons. The painter, Mr. OC did his thing along with another man there that seemed to be the DJ in my opinion. The painter/instructor was easy going, funny, enjoyable, creative, and clear with the instructions. You bring your own liquor, cup, and ice. You paint, laugh, chill, sip, and vibe! It was a wonderful experiment and well worth the $36!! The painting came to life once it was all done and the black light turned on in the room. Don't doubt yourself when you start..... "trust the process" as Mr. OC would say. LOL! Have fun and let brush flow with the flick of your wrist. You get to pick a day and time based on what art you would like to paint. My art is posted in my bedroom and everyone I showed it to definitely gave me my props. I turned into a Picasso that night. LOL! Give it shot if you have not and if you feel your art just isn't right, your instructor is there to encourage you and help you...
