Fast froward and we will cut to the chase... I confidently recommend you call and ask to book with Deborah W. Just Do It.đź’« I bought a Tempur- Contour Elite Mattress, top of the line, that retails for $3,200 (plus taxes etc) and saved well over a thousand dollars, and yes, it is true, and there is no sale going on, the store was closing and if it weren't for someone as sharp, savvy, and sincere in effort as Deborah, they would've rushed me out the door to get home and I would have over spent on the wrong mattress and I was shopping for a tough person who is very particular, my mother, and she is honestly absolutely deserving of the best.
In all seriousness when you are planning to go, call the store and set up an appointment with Deborah W., if you want honesty and someone generous with their time and does not push things on you, RSVP.
If you'd like to know why to set up an appointment, please, read on... I have had good experiences at this location and have even opened a card with them and purchased the Laura Sofa in cream which is amazingly beautiful and comfortable, but Deborah is truly exceptional. She assisted me with a tough task, to find the absolute most perfect Tempurpedic Contour Elite mattress for my mother. I had always shopped there for myself in the past, but it's always tough finding the perfect gift let alone mattress for someone that has exactly opposite taste than you. At First I thought the Tepur- Cloud was going to be the right one, simply because of the word "cloud", actually I was confident and certain of it, but it was no where near as soft and comfortable as the Tempur- Contour Elite (Level 1 Soft) and firm is my preference, if it wasn't for Deborah I would've went online and ordered a firmer mattress, that my mother would never ever liked and it would have just have become a hassle. She sincerely went above and beyond as it was closing hours for the store and was super generous with her effort, time, and patience. The first time I met her I was looking for a bed that I had seen online and I spent a serious month trying to find something I would truly love and did not buy the I first had looked at El Dorado and I was fairly certain that I'd be back too for the first. The second time I bought a mattress protector, again, 5 mins to closing. The 3rd time Deborah assisted me she found me the deal of a lifetime on the Tempurpedic I first referenced. She sets the bar high when it comes to professionalism and assisting clients from a simple mattress protector to the helping you buy the most perfect gift. Not only did she figure out the perfect delivery schedule, she even helped me buy an accessory that El Dorado does not even carry or offer for the Tempur- Contour Elite (level 1 softness.) Now that is rare to find someone like Deborah to completely find the right product and even accessories that has no benefit to her is profoundly amazing. Any other person would've let me walk out the door empty handed without the El Dorado enveloped invoice, let alone the an elite gift. I also love that there are more things to come back for. Deborah showed me that the base for the Tempur- ContourElite otherwise I'd never know it has the ability to rise up into a comfortable sitting position and massages!!! My mom will have no idea it has the ability to massage and rise, because it just looks like a gorgeous flawless Top of the line Tempurpedic. I will call for Deborah when December arrives and surprise mom with the incredible base! Even paying, the part that we all don't want to do is even a pleasure with Lexie and Deborah combined. I have NEVER taken the time to write a Google review which is very odd, because I am a Top 10k Reviewer on Amazon and about to to be badged for the Top 1000. I am just incredibly impressed with how well I was treated, cared for, and lastly the unexpected savings. I confidently and highly recommend to make the drive to experience her professionalism. Obviously, an outstanding...
Read moreI stopped in here for the first time, and my experience was pretty bad.
My visit was intended to be short- and it was, just not for the right reasons. One of the sales people greeted me at the door, as expected, and I explained my situation to him. I didn't intend to stay long, all I wanted to do was browse. I am remodeling my room and I wanted some inspiration, and to see if there was any furniture that interested me. I had gotten about halfway around the showroom before I noticed that the same gentleman had started following me, clearly suspicious. He had asked me twice if I needed help during my visit, both times I thanked him and simply declined. Kept my hands to myself, and only touched furniture to see the tags or to inspect drawers.
Now granted, I understand being weary of new people in a pricey show room. Especially when that person opts to walk around by herself and she looks a little worse-for-wear (I had just gotten off of a long shift in a cafe and decided to take a walk home, still wearing my dirty apron). Or maybe he was following me because he wanted to make sure I went to him with any questions or potential purchases. I know some stores do sales on commission, so salespeople tend to "stalk" potential buyers.
But having him follow me, and the way he did it made my experience uncomfortable. To top that off, after I decided to leave and I said my goodbyes, he said a farewell and then continued to follow me out the store and watch me walk away. I ignored him, but that made me think this was more than a sales thing. It was embarrassing, and that single action is what made me stop giving him the benefit of the doubt.
I should have confronted him, in hindsight, or found someone to express my concerns to. It's not like I was going to walk out of there with a couch in my pocket. But my hindsight is 20/20 and I didn't think it would bother me so much, until I was up late and I couldn't get it off of my mind.
My very first time browsing a show-room, too. Not at all a great first impression.
EDIT: I went back a second time with a family member. Though I still had a bad taste in my mouth from the first experience, this second visit was tremendously better. I didn't feel like I was being stalked, and the salesperson who help us was knowledgeable and kind. I wish I could remember the names of both these salespeople to praise the woman who helped me, and to scold the man who followed me. The former was wonderful enough that I feel like my original one star review was quite harsh, so I've upped it to three stars, despite the fact that...
Read moreI really don't know how this place has 4.5 stars. Working with El Dorado has been an absolute nightmare. I walked into this store and the associate helped me find a mattress. He was nice enough but they do follow you around and refuse to leave you alone. I ended up purchasing a King mattress and adjustable base. I wanted to support a local Hispanic business and I even chose a mattress from their in-house mattress collection to support them. They delivered the first one defective (picture 1). Took a month to get a call back. They said the delivery guy never made a note about the defect but they came and delivered a replacement, also defective in the same exact place (picture 2 and 3). The mattress cover was obviously not sewn on correctly and the same corner was lumpy. The photos don't even do it justice. The delivery guys were so rude and even tried to pressure me into keeping it even though they acknowledged that the mattress had visible issues. Fast forward THREE months later, I just get off the phone with an employee who says they can't do a refund, only an exchange and I have to pay a delivery fee. You can't do a refund for a defective product? Why would I want a third defective product? This is a HORRIBLE business. I would give this place 0 stars. My mom said her table set from them also was defective and the people were rude to her on the phone. I thought I was doing something good by supporting a local minority-owned business, but I would rather purchase from Rooms-to-Go. I am furnishing a new apartment and I was ready to spend some serious money at this place alone. I am SO glad that I didn't. These people are terrible, especially during this pandemic.
EDIT / Response to Owner: My "acceptance" of your resolution was forced. Don't act like I had a choice. The horrifically rude representative on the phone would not process an exchange without me paying an additional delivery fee even though I purchased the mattress when you were running a no-delivery fee special. It is not my fault that you delivered TWO defective mattresses. YOU should be footing the bill for the additional deliveries. Horrible business both at the Plantation store and the St. Pete store. I filed a report with the Better Business Bureau. Congratulations on cutting...
