The city provides trash cans and port a potties close to the beach markers that are spaced every 10th of a mile . Bring toilet paper with you! (It is stocked once a day) every fuel station and grocery store has parking passes- you can drive the beach without one but you can not stop with out it! In Port A proper there are wooden bollards that separate parking from pedestrian only beach . Once you get past the Texan the bollards don’t exist you can then park at the tide line ( handy if you are fishing) Get yourself some polarized sunglasses so you can see the fish in the wave swells and crests! Each main beach access point also has open air no private (keep your bathing suit on) outdoor showers to rinse off the sand. Sun rise is on gulf side and set is on Laguna side. The WIND! If you have never been to a gulf front beach… check your weather app to know for sure … most days 10-13 mph wind with gusts up to 20-39 mph ! Shade structures meant for soccer games to cut it at the beach! Mangled pop canopy frames are dumped next to the teas cans daily!!!

Beautiful and well maintained beaches. Its defense worth buying the Beach Access Parking Permits so you may drive and park as you please on the beachs. Plenty of space for you and your family to spread out and relax and spend the day on. If you're like me and my family, we spend several hours at a time on the beaches. So its nice when you can find a clean and maintained beach. The city of Port Aransas does a great job at this!

Port Aransas, TX is around 3 hours from San Antonio, TX. We love the Holiday Inn Express, 1 block from the ocean, across from Shell Restaurant. Stop by FLY It, they are wonderful people, there is something for everyone. Plus you are helping Port A, after Harvey, we have to go there every time. We have gone for possible over 30 Years. Kites, windsocks, spinners, and more.

The happiest, cheerful, white sand beaches, cool clear blue water, sand castles built by children, women and men. Clean beaches filled with sand-dollars, sea shells and white sand. We escape the city and drive just two and a half hours to go to the beach and see many turtles at the beach and walk the trail to see the turtles basking in the sun living in Port Aransas, Mustang Island taking the Ferry with our vehicle where the Mustang Horses ran wild in the sand. The Mustang Club has an indoor heated pool and hot tub. The beach houses are clean and delightfully decorated for your convenience to stay at Mustang Island for a peaceful stay and enjoy your visit riding horses along the coast or bask in the glow of the sun and sand, Stores galore have swimsuits and everything you might need for your vacation in Mustang Island. Coffee shops, ice cream, gelato in your favorite flavors are prepared by delightful people and the military share war stories at the cafe with paintings for viewing or sale if you want to take these paintings available for a small price. We drive to Mustang Island in less than two and one half hours every chance we can. This is were we go to relax and have fun at the beach and see the wild life park in Mustang Island. The seafood restaurants are great, to dine in or take shrimp, salmon and all sorts of seafood. Burgers for the meat loving people are...

The beach in Port Aransas is still the last beach in the US that you can drive on so pack up the kids and the dog and come on down. The beach is clean - the sand is bulldozed daily to remove debris and any seaweed. There are trash cans and porta potties placed at regular intervals and a number of clean water showers at beach exits. Note that you'll have to buy a $12 parking permit for any vehicle you plan to park on the beach and that permit is good for the year. You can get them at convenience stores near the beach and at a stand right on the beach. Also there is a strict leash law for pups on the beach.

Post Hurricane Harvey repairs are well underway and although not all the hotel rooms are open yet, there are hotels just a short, free ferry ride away in Aransas Pass. And you can even camp on the beach for a maximum of 3 days for free!

There are plenty of places to eat in Port A and an IGA grocery store for sandwich supplies and drinks.

Harvey may have hit Port A hard but it's back and the beach is as wonderful as ever. Come on...
