The good: This location is blocks from the beach and walking distance to restaurants and shops. The pool and hot tub were nice & clean. The used pool towel basket was full on both days and the pool towels were not restocked. The breakfast was good and was buffet style with hot items and trays to carry your items to your room. The lady that works in the breakfast area was very good about asking the guest to put gloves on and keep them on. She has a tip jar out so don't forget to take some cash down with you when getting breakfast. They have bbq grills and picnic tables at the back of the property.
The bad: I reserved a queen executive room that sleeps 6 with a pull out sofa but was given a full room with a pull out sofa instead. I tried calling the front desk from the room but the phone was broken so I went down and the front desk person was adamant that the property does not have full size beds. I told them that on both travel sites and their website they do offer full size beds and that I paid more to have queen beds. I also let them know the phone was broken in the room and they said they would put in a "maintenance request" for the phone. I went back to the room and called the Holiday Inn customer service line and they tried contacting the property and after they talked to the property they basically told me that I needed to take the issue up with the property and they couldn't do anything about it but have the general manager call me. That never happened though. I never got a call. It's vacation so I finally let that go and we went about our day after check in. We came back in the evening and our drinks that we had put in the fridge had not cooled even a little in the hours we were gone. We also noticed that the room had not cooled down either but went a head and tried to sleep. We ended up waking up at about midnight or 1 am sweating. The lady at the front desk wasn't very pleasant but she was very accommodating and she switched our room at 1 am. Sure enough the room we were switched to was a queen room with a pull out sofa. So we finally got the room that we paid for. It was such a bummer to have to move all of our unpacked stuff up a floor at 1 am after a long day if traveling on our vacation. The next day we were filling kinda ripped off that we weren't just given the nice room and the room size and type that we originally paid for so I contacted the front desk and asked if we could get a refund if we checked out early and they agreed to refund us the remaining nights we would not be staying. The guy that works the day shift front desk lied to me about the full beds vs the queen beds and he was not accommodating at all. He brushed off all concerns we brought to him and I should have know because when I first got in to check in he was complaining about another customer to the other front desk employees right in front of me. None of the staff except the breakfast lady ever had a welcoming attitude toward customers. No bedding was provided in the room for the pull out sofa in either room we were given.
Overall I appreciate that the hotel was willing to refund us for the canceled nights but I would not...
Read moreWe were taking our first vacation, property searching in almost 6 years. We called around and found that your hotell was not the cheapest or nicest it seemed to be at least clean and new. So we decided to book four nights. After booking we were put in a urine stained handicapped accessible room. It's was just me and my wife but threw our booking.com description, this was a "Delux Suit" and was more than a regular room so I booked it hoping it be bigger and more space. The room smelled horribly. So I asked for just a King bed because it was also a double queen we were offered. It was me and my wife.....that's it.....we were told all kings were not in working order or booked. So we stayed the first night, in a room soaked in urine smell on separate beds. Next morning new staff! Kind young woman happily showed us to a King Room and was very clean!!! So next night as we walked out over heard what we thought to be Anti Semitic statements, as we walked by the door again it was when Joe's shift started. Next day the same kind woman seen we had rented and parked a golf cart on property, we asked since it was raining if we could keep it under the port out of the way....she said yes no problem. As we sit down to dinner this time we traveled to Corpus Christi my phone rings and it's Joe from your front desk explaining if I don't move the cart he will tow it away. So we leff in the middle of our day and most importantly a meal we just paid for to go back to the hotel. At this point I know Joe has a problem with us as people....so I ended my stay at 6pm on Saturday he charged me for the whole night but we stayed down the road the next few days with no problems. This man is driving the small amount of people away when it's clear it was SLOW FOR BUSINESS. HE IS BAD FOR...
Read moreWorst experience ever with a hotel. And from what I can see on reviews, it looks like they may target the elderly. Booked a 2 night stay only to come back to hotel after fishing to find out our room had been cleaned out, belongings gone through and thrown into trash bags, cracked my ipad and then moved to another hotel room after only 1 night. Police ended up coming to property upon both party's request. Corporate agreed we had booked a 2 night stay and confirmed this with the officer involved, only to get back on the phone and lie to the officer saying we didn't. The officer even called the corporate lady out on her lie. The officer even went as far as to tell IHG they should give a FULL refund as bad as we were treated. Saying they did not have rooms available, but they moved our belongings to another "rentable" room taking it out of commission. If this was the case, why were our belongings not at the front desk. Why did front desk not just say this when I went down after trying to get in our room and the key did not work. But no, made me go back up to second floor to get my ID from my husband who was waiting for me. The man at the desk with the beard then not only charged us for the night we did stay, but added an additional $270 on top of that. Never recieved a receipt until I called IHG to have corporate send it. NOT one phone call was made to us to say there was even a problem. Customers in the lobby were even apologizing to us for how we were treated. And all this for my husband's birthday. Customer beware especially if you are elderly and not up for the fight. NOT...
