The trip was fun. We seen lots of dolphins when you get on the cruise the water is brown and murky but when you get closer to South Padre Island, you can see where the water meets the turquoise water. It does not mix that was really cool to see in person, also we seen tons of dolphins and that had a met that drug behind it and scooped up some things put them in a bucket and we were able to hold them or touch them as the captains assistant brought them out. There was a fingernail crab that was super cool and a puffer fish which I did not No, they were poisonous to touch. I knew that they were poisonous if you ate them and they were not prepared correctly, but we were able to hold the puffer fish only me and two other people on the cruise held the fish and about 2030 minutes after held the fish I was ill for at least 24 hours, I wish I wouldâve known that I should not have held the puffer fish and that puffer fish should not be held at all or touched that couldâve been fatal so I wish the captain wouldâve been a little bit more thorough with telling us things like that because I had no idea . I will say watching the murky water meet the turquoise Clearwater was really cool and the captain even allowed some of the kids that wanted to to steer the boat. The kids enjoyed that and we did see lots of dolphins, but I highly suggest if youâre given the opportunity to hold the puffer fish that you...
Read moreIn the past this has been an excellent dolphin watch tour, it's affordable and it's one of the longest rides in the area but lately the crew has been bringing their family and friends on board and they carry on like they own the boat. They take over the bow of the boat and most annoyingly, a middle-aged man who drinks and smokes during the entire ride stands at the bottom level at the very front and yells at anyone who might be standing in front of the window where the captain is in control. I got yelled at several times by this guy and thought it was a one time thing but I went again recently and there he was again doing the same thing. I asked the captain if I was in his way and he said no. He told me not to pay attention to the guy and that he was just drunk. I don't think this is a very professional outfit if they're going to routinely have people like that on board. I won't go back to Dolphin Docks and instead will go to Sea Ranch where the price is a little higher but where they're more professional and where the crew don't bring their drunk friends on board. The guy in question wore a JEEP ball cap and drinks Lite beer one after the other in case anyone else has had the same...
Read moreI went out on a bay fishing trip with my husband, mom, 6 year old son and 6 month old baby. To say that this place is great would be an understatement. We showed up and after a while the captain came up and let us know that the group that was supposed to be fishing with us didn't show up but instead of just canceling we also had the option to pay a bit extra to cover their minimum to leave (which wasn't much at all since my group was already pretty numerous) and have a private charter. We chose to pay the extra and I'm so glad we did! The cost was still an amazing deal, especially for everything provided and all the help that deckhand Billy provided. The Captain was so nice and really kept the vibe chill. It was my son's very first time fishing out on a boat and they were very sweet and patient with him. We will be repeat...
