EVEN THE AMISH ARE COMPLAINING!

Boy, what an adventure today.

I was greeted by a non english speaking server who didn't understand what SWEET Tea was, didn't understand: ALL YOU CAN EAT, despite it being on the menu.

I knew it was going to be a rough time.

No chips or salsa before the meal, no server, nothing.

I was about to walk out of the restaurant as my order arrived. Then, it all arrived at once. The beans were old and under-cooked (quite the combination), the chips were stale and the salsa was runny and presumably from the day before. The shrimp were good, but not great. The Cole slaw was flavorless and forgettable.

During the whole time, the owner was loudly speaking over the phone, getting up to ring up the customers that filtered by.

I was done with my meal in about 10 minutes since most of it was inedible and went to cash out when I asked the owner why she was on the phone and waiting on customers at the same time. She was furious that she was being called out, after all, she IS THE OWNER!, all in Spanish of course. She told me that she was dealing with a family member who was unwell. I told her, you either give your customers your full attention or you deal with your family, but you can't do both as it is unprofessional and careless. She was not about to be verbally castigated to which I responded, No, you only send out that warning BEFORE you get called out, not after. She kept mumbling about how SHE runs her business HER way. Sure, that explains that HUGE mural-size grease stain on the whole side of her building leading to a dumpster. Sure, faded and weathered signs in front of the business will entice potential customers to show up in droves. Sure, examples of poor service, bizarre behavior, tasteless food on reviews will continue. THAT explains how she runs HER business.

Marcellos this is NOT. Even the Amish are complaining!

I recommend staying away from this culinary catastrophe.

Did not meet the high expectations we held. We were told it was a great place to eat. We did not ask what was the best food to eat there. Smell from the parking lot was mouth watering. We were excited to order seafood since decoration was very nautical, and the name is a beach, after all. We immediately got huge drinks, cups of delicious Mexican bean soup and tasty home made chips. So far, I'm thrilled with the place. I asked for recommendations and the server said he didn't know. When I asked what his favorite seafood was, he said he didn't like seafood. I asked what meal items were popular and again, he didn't know. That should have been a hint. But I was already seated, and those beans were great. We ordered seafood. The actual dishes, though, the poboy was ok. The seafood platter was ok. The shrimp had that chemical-not-fresh flavor. The sauces for the seafood were all very plain. Kudos for not tasting like they were straight out of the kraft bottle but didn't quite hit the mark. I asked for lemons, and as authentic Mexican, they brought a bowl full of limes. All in all, I wish I knew what smelled so good. So if you go and eat at Cabo, it's not the seafood. Service was good, place is clean with plenty of parking, food was served without a long wait, but it was neither good nor bad. I did correct a wrong charge when paying the bill that they quickly fixed, blaming the server's...

I drove down here from Dallas for vacation, and honestly... This is probably the worst "Mexican" food I've ever had. It literally tastes like they take taco bell ingredients, boil them in a pot of plain water, tortillas and all, then sell it to you.

I got the Mexican plate with beef.

The beef tasted like water. The chalupa was moist and soggy. And the enchiladas were halfway dissolved.

I felt like a baby bird having prechewed and half digested food spit into my mouth with every bite.

Even the beans and rice were wet and flavorless. I know what powdered "just add water" beans from a bag taste like, and that's exactly what they serve here. And the rice? If ramen noodles made rice, it would be 10x better. It's like they made rice one time when they opened, and since then, they just take a scoop of the old rice and use that to "season" a new batch. It was wet, soggy, flavorless, and disappointing.

However, the prices are fair for what you receive. I can't say that the $9.99 Mexican plate didn't leave me feeling full. It was almost too much food for one meal. So although the quality is terrible, it's a decent value if you absolutely NEED to eat. That's why I gave it two stars.

But honestly, if I could do it over again, I'd just...

I ordered the huevos divorciados. Food was terrible. Eggs were undercooked and topped with refrigerated green salsa. The red salsa consisted of coarsely diced tomato that was no warmer than room temperature. The lettuce was wilted and saturated in rinse water as a result, the entire presentation sat in a puddle of water. The beans were likely canned or instant. The fajita was tepid and gummy. Probably microwaved and prepared the day before. The tortilla was redeeming albeit dry and brittle palatable with a smear of margarine spread. Coffee was acceptable. Avoid this restaurant if other options are available.

I was looking for a place with authentic Mexican dishes with American choices for my family. It took a few minutes to get seated (you can sit anywhere). The bean soup was delicious. I had fish and shrimp combo with fries and coleslaw. Cant complain. The food was good! The main reason I gave 4 stars was because my 9 year had a hard time finding any food he liked while on spring break besides fast food. He had 3 soft tacos with rice and beans. He ate it all!
