We made an extensive online review in our search for a good place to by a new mattress set, beginning with all of the companies that popped-up after a Google Search for sellers within 50 miles of our home. Most of the sellers offered very little guidance that we found helpful in defining our interests and understanding the options they offered. Next, we checked in with Consumer Reports and reviewed their advice about what to consider when making a purchase, and which dealers were recommended. That's where we discovered that The Original Mattress Factory (OMF) was their highest rated for overall customer satisfaction.

We understand why they got the top rating. Their Website is superior -- by far -- to all the others we reviewed, offering comprehensive, consise, and well organized information that helped us identify our key concerns.

When we visited the Port Orange OMF store, the on-duty sales representative (Richie) greeted us and then carefully listened to our list of key interests. After a brief discussion he suggested a mattress that he believed would satisfy our concerns, and explained why. We ultimately selected the first mattress set he recommended.

Delivery was scheduled just a couple of days later. The crew arrived on the appointed day within the time period originally estimated. Their appearance and demeanor inspired confidence that they would respect our propery; they were courteous, careful, efficient, and professional.

The Port Orange Branch is new and we did not know of its existence. By chance Maps Map listed "The Original Mattress Factory" nearby. We met one of the nicest sales staff member, Richie Cordrey, that we have ever encountered in any business. He was so cordial, relaxed, and informative. All of the information he provided, both to our questions, or as advice and "food for thought" was right on target and most helpful. Obviously, we ended up purchasing a mattress. This was on a Wednesday and the mattress was delivered on Saturday which was the first day available as the mattresses are delivered from another city. Promptly within the delivery time window the two delivery men arrived and set up the mattress and box spring. They were also two of the most pleasant, friendly, competent, caring delivery personnel that we have encountered. During this entire process of purchasing and delivery we were treated with the upmost respect, kindness and service one could imagine. This is not normal in our area and we are most thankful and appreciative. Having only slept on the bed for less than a week, it seems as if our choice was the correct one. We were desperate to find a mattress fast. Felt so relieved to find this store after experiencing the circling sharks at the mattress store next door. My issue isn't with the shopping experience, but with the mattress itself. The locked interwoven spring technology they boast about using has made us miserable. I've never experienced a mattress with so much motion transference. If one person sneezes, the other nearly bounces out of the bed. I wake up with a stiff back every morning that takes hours to return to normal. I don't have any back issues and we didn't buy a cheap mattress. But I've slept on budget mattresses in the past that were better than this one. I even occassionally sleep on the couch to get a break from the agony of this thing. I know there is an exchange policy at OMF but it isn't a good one. We still lose money. Also, if this mattress is this bad, I wouldn't even want another from the same company.
