I booked a sunset cruise on August 21st and it was one of the WORST boat cruises I have ever done. First of all, the boat was OVERCROWDED with not enough seats for everyone. An entire top section of the boat was closed off to access, leaving only 2 levels with limited seating for the public. Now granted, people were getting on and off the boat, so at different times there was different levels of crowding, but this is an issue I've never had with any other boat cruises I've done. Don't oversell the boat, it's not that hard.

Next major issue, POOR/FALSE ADVERTISING!!! This cruise was advertised as a scenic guided tour through the Casco bay. I could agree that it was a scenic guided cruise for the first hour. After that, it became a glorified public transit service for the next hour and half!

Would you ever go to a new place and then buy a ticket for a public bus and ride it for 2 hours until the end of the line? Of course not! So I have no idea why the Casco Bay Lines think that people are interested in sitting (or rather standing) on a boat for 2+ hours while they pick up and drop off passengers from the various islands!?!

Even if I could get a refund for the money I spent on this terrible experience, it would never make up for the 2 hours of my time wasted on such a miserable experience. I don't know if the Sunset Cruise is the only boat cruise like this, BUT BE SURE TO AVOID IT AT...

Recently I damaged my right shoulder, wrist and elbow and haven't experienced a pain that far exceeded a horse kick to the groan and dragged 100 yards down a gravel road till now. The amount of depression that swept in behind the physical pain was more than I could bare. So, I tried everything! Accept this product. I was leery because my 83 year old mother has been screwed over so many times by snake oil sold online. My friends, no matter what your beliefs are, I truly believe my God spent more than a day on this beautiful "Weed." Thank you Casco...y'all definitely have a winning product.

I purchased both the 1,600m and the 3,000m...I drop 3 drops under my tongue for a few minutes and on the 8th minute it hits me like a wave. Three drops in the morning and 3 before bed. I went 12 nights sleeping 2 to 3 hours a night. This old Marine hasn't woken up crying since I broke my arm at age 7. I'm sleeping 7 hours now....

Casco Bay offers several ferry lines as well as a great mail boat that takes you around several of the nearby islands. You can either get off at any of them or stay on for a 3-ish hour tour of the harbor and surrounding areas. This makes for a great orientation tour of the area when visiting. They are also very dog friendly, you just need to buy a $4 or so ticket for Fido. Hershey loved the fresh air and sights of the bay, bird life, and especially that they let you bring your own food and drink onboard. Stop at duckfat for a great sandwich and the craft beer cellar for some liquid refreshment while on board. The boat makes longer stops on a few islands as well so you can get off for a few minutes and stretch your legs. Boarding is a bit stressful as they don't control the lines well, but there are more seats than you'd think and it clears off after Long Island where many people go to their...

This is hard to rate because there’s the building that includes freight drop off, ticket sales, waiting room and rest rooms and gates to the ferry boats. And then there’s the boats themselves. A lot of young people work here and they work hard. But no one seems to be in charge of cleaning the rest rooms which are dimly lit and dirty. They have been building the current building for years. There is more room to unload freight but you still get boxed in by other cars. The boats are pretty clean but if you are going to the last island on the route ( Cliff Island) you have at least 1 1/2 hour ride. Of course it’s beautiful cruising by other islands so ride is bearable. And if it’s hot in Portland this ride will cool you off. So 3 stars is average of everything. It’s worth at least 1 trip.

Roundtrip ticket to Peaks Island was $7.70 for an adult, which you can buy the same day at the window (credit cards only). It was a nice, 15-minute ride over. The ferry is big enough to allow proper social distancing. The cool thing is that residents from the Casco Bay Islands can bring their cars onto the ferry (not sure how much that cost), which is something I've never really seen before. I would just note that the ferry times are limited now due to Covid (which is understandable). So that's how we decided on Peaks Island - because it was the only one that fit with our schedule. Would I come back the next time I'm in Portland? Probably not but it's nice if you just want to take a ferry ride somewhere. Tip - you can see Portland Head Lighthouse in the distance!

We took the ferry to Peaks Island. Wonderful. You get tickets at the booth - adults are $7.50, children $3.50. They are very organized, tho definitely not on time - the 15:15 was late (by 20 minutes). First, the cars board, then the people who live on the island, then everyone else. Go to the top you should find seats. The ride itself is about 20 minutes and can get cold. Take a sweater. On the island, you can rent bikes, golf carts etc...we didn't do any of that. Walking around was really fun we found a rocky beach that we explored and some lovely people who live on the island (in the summer). The ride back was a bit more crowded, but still very pleasant. Take a schedule when you get your tickets too and pack a snack , especially if you are with kids
