Hello,
It was my first time in this area. I had a very hungry child and was looking for food for her. I walked by a pizza window. I did not realize it was attached to this theater. When I did, I went to the theater door and saw an employee inside the ticket booth. I tapped on the window to ask if it would be possible to purchase a slice without seeing a movie. The staff member was sitting at her workstation, wearing earbuds with her back to the window. She did not acknowledge me but used her finger to point to a sign that stated that the theater would open at 1.pm. I believe it was about 15 minutes till 1pm. I was shocked by the rudeness and could not understand why an employee at their workstation would refuse to speak to a possible customer. I tapped again and got the finger again. I tapped a third time and she took off her earbuds, made a face and opened the window. I asked about the pizza and she answered. I then asked her for her name (Cornelia) and I asked her why she could not have answered me the first time I tapped. She stated she was not on duty until the theater opened. I do not know of any workplace where staff is not paid to come in before opening to set up. I also do not know of any workplace where employees sit at their workstation, off the clock, in the public eye. I certainly have never been ignored by any theater employee while they were sitting at the ticket booth. I told her that I thought her behavior had been ignorant and that I would speak to the manager. She stated she did not have to take this from me and that the manager would agree. This person represents the theater when on the premises, clocked in, or not. It is her responsibility to treat customers with respect and courtesy. I found her behavior significantly unprofessional and rude, and as a result, I will not buy pizza or see movies at this theater. I also hope if the manager is in the habit of allowing his staff to sit in the ticket booth, off the clock, and disrespect possible customers, he changes the sign on the ticket booth so his off the clock staff won't be disturbed by...
Ā Ā Ā Read morethis is a St. John's staple. it's extremely affordable to watch movies here. I go through periods especially when the movies are very good coming out that I am up to date on the new release films. The popcorn and pizza are very tasty. The pizza is extremely affordable. they did a renovation where they replaced all the seats and part of the seats. you can put in like a table that fits into the drink cup. that makes it extremely helpful to have your picture of beer, your bucket of popcorn and napkins all in the same area. they play first-run movies and they are the second cheapest place in Portland to watch movies. First being St Johns McMenamins down the street. 5 to 7 (without online fees) vs 7 to 9 (without online fees). The only way to avoid the online fees or to show up in person and pay right then and there.
I highly suggest people from various neighborhoods to come check out the cinema. you will not be disappointed and they keep it local.
they have soda, beer, cider, wine, alcoholic seltzers, and various other things for drink selections. The beers on tap are well balanced. Seats are comfortable . Sound...

There is a smaller theater upstairs with the larger theater downstairs. Some of the seats in the downstairs theater are unbalanced and need to be repaired, but this is only an issue if you arrive late to the opening night of a big release. There's usually ample good seating. The upstairs is wheelchair accessible by ramp, but there's no elevator.
Kids can watch movies unaccompanied before 8 pm. (That's a big deal for this mom of a 14 year old. I don't have to watch the latest teen flick unless I really want to!) They offer full concessions to include pizza, soda, candy, popcorn, beer/cider, and more. Their family combo of 2 large drinks and 1 large popcorn for $10 is the way we usually go.
The theater is older. (There are only 2 stalls in the women's restroom compared to the 20 stalls in a Regal theater. Some of the seats need to be repaired in the downstairs theater.) But the value for the money is...
