I engaged with Blue Heron Jewelry Co to do several alterations to my wedding ring situation. As it happens, my fingers are much larger now than when I married in 2015. I needed my engagement ring sized up (after I managed to get the ring off my finger, that is!) and then have my wedding band and supplemental band sized up, too. I wanted a 'mega ring' which would require soldering all 3 bands together. Because my rings are white gold, and all different ages, I also had it dipped to even out the color and make it look like one ring. The team did excellent work. They even polished out a satin finish on one of the supplemental rings that was not to my liking, so it would match the high-polish finish on the rest of the ring components.

Additionally, I appreciated that they were not pushy. They gave me a quote for the work (which was within $50-60 accurate) and then let me think it over before having the work done. I can truly appreciate sales staff that aren't "sales-y". They are true professionals and made appropriate recommendations based on what I wanted as a final product.

They ain't cheap. I had half a mind to outsource the sizing and bring the separate pieces back to BHJC for the finishing work, but that would have probably only saved me one or two hundred bucks and I didn't feel that was worth it for the amount of back-and-forth I'd have to do to shop around for the sizing work.

Blue Heron changed the way I feel about jewelry store. Before I thought that with how much is available online that jewelry stores felt outdated and unnecessary, now i understand how important they are - and Blue Heron is special on top of that.

When I went in to Blue Heron to ask about getting the stones reset because the online company response to the problem was unsatisfactory, the most charming sales rep Leslie was kind, knowledgeable, and so helpful. I hadn’t realized that the size and make of the band would need to be sturdier for every day wear.

When Leslie so that maybe fixing my engagement ring might be too prion for that day she asked me lots of questions about my style and eventually showed me a ring that was made in house by one of their talented jewelers. I was so floored that I decided it needed to be my wedding ring.

It was the interactions I had with Leslie that changed my view of jewelry stores (especially small ones like Blue Heron). Having someone like Leslie to be able to ask questions, get advice, and have tons of options I would not have initially chose myself was invaluable. Leslie and Blue Heron turned a tear filled day into a brilliant day that I found my wedding ring. I cannot say enough...

So every year around Christmas I deliver my granddaughters pearl necklaces to Blue Heron to have an inch of pearls added representing the year older for each of my granddaughters. I do this every year until they are 18, in which the young lady will have a full 18” strand of pearls. I am so please to have Debbie, Megan and Alex assist every year as they know exactly what I am looking to do and helps me find the perfect pearls to be added and maintains the quality of the necklace. Some may say why not just buy a pearl necklace and give it them… well I could, but just as each year (or so) a oyster with a pearl adds an additional layer around a small grain sand, time the oyster takes to make a pearl is significant and the natural beauty is amazing. Just as it is our granddaughters growing up. I thank Blue Heron for their help each year. Now we recently welcomed our 8th granddaughter (16th over all) in March another necklace will be added. Looking forward to the continuing of this tradition with Blue Heron.
