Midwest Conference Center — Attraction in Proviso Township

Recently had my daughters Quinceanera at this venue, BEAUTIFUL venue, views are amazing space is great for big families and Zolia is great with communication. But…. I was not happy with service the day of my event. The entire area besides the main ballroom is extremely hot, the bridal suit had huge industrial fans to cool the room off, the girls couldn’t even enjoy the room because it was so hot. The first hour is a complete waste of time, I had to rearrange entrances last minute because the main room was not going to be ready. I basically lost an hour of time while everyone hung out in the hallways waiting for the serving crew to set up the tables. (Why it wasn’t done before the start of my event not sure but completely unorganized) The guest had to hang out in the cocktail room, or hallways that have no Air Conditioning! It looked a mess and looked like everyone was in line to be seated and… It was extremely hot!! Then after an hour guest are able to be seated. With my package I did not have wine at the head table because they were teenagers, we did have a toast to her adult family that I wanted wine or champagne in specific cups that were made, the servers poured Sprite into those cup because I didn’t have wine at the head table!? But I did have open bar!! There was a big deal to take a bottle of wine or champagne from the bar area that we had paid for to put into these cups and it couldn’t be done! I was extremely disappointed with that! The bartender was extremely rude! There was no communication as for when the bar was open or closed besides the bartender yelling “I’m Closed”! As a separate charge you are charged a “Cake cutting fee”, serving crew cut cake and placed on tables, top tier was boxed and placed on our table, I had a whole bottom tier left over that was not cut up or wrapped and placed for my guest take additional pieces, I had to continue to as the serving crew to cut additional pieces for my guest., instead of having the remaining cake cut and placed for guest. Then when I asked for the rest of the cake I was told the top tier was in a box, but I wanted the big rest of the cake that was left over as well. They put it in a garbage bag!!! In a black garbage bag is how I left with my cake!!! Horrible! I know the cake came in a box and they had a box for the small one so I’m sure there was a big one as well. My fiancee & I went to check it out planning on getting married next year. The photos online & in pictures were beautiful I just from the pictures wanted this venue for my special day. We get there do the walk through I felt like I was literally walking through the movie set of the shining. So very disappointing the venue doesn't look like it's been updated since the 70s. The little dance floor was yucky, carpet bad huge pillar in the middle of the room where we would have our ceremony. Don't want to look out those floor to ceiling windows during the day nothing but rail yards truck stops & gas stations. Not that you wouldn't see it nor would it just not be there, it us the 16th floor after all. We are looking at more places obviously. This one was just not for us. It was totally reasonable which...

This place is so unprofessional. My cousin had a wedding planned for Nov 5th 2022. Because the owner did not like that my cousin was not going to let her keep on trying to charge her different prices other then what her contract stated she canceled my cousin wedding.
