I finally found this “hidden” beach in between Playa Escambron and Playa Capitolo, just outside of Old San Juan. The path through the trees starts on the other side of the sidewalk fence, and its a bit steep and drops down about two stories to the beach below. Its very much worth the short hike because this beach is completely isolated and usually deserted. There’s a reef “bathtub”, plenty of shade in the treeline, and the water is surprisingly calm for its location. Bring a backpack only, no coolers or chairs, and lock your bikes up or park your car on the opposite side of Avenida Luis Munoz Rivera on one of the short side streets.
