Let me tell you something - I couldn't find a single flaw with this place. They were very near capacity (covid restrictions) but they made an exception since I had a small party, and the customer service (which is sometimes lacking in PR) didn't stop there and continued through the whole time I was there. From the street it doesn't look like much, but just past the standard metal fencing you see on most businesses, the place opens up to a hacienda-style setting. Oh, and the prices are very reasonable on food (I didn't have alcohol) After the meal I was outside trying to find an Uber and the hostess asked where I was going and gave me a ride to my airbnb. Turns out, she was the owner! She and her husband started the restaurant 18 years ago and you can tell the simple choices on the menu have been refined by this time and experience. It would probably be a good place to go for drinks too if you wanted a low-key relaxing venue. You really have to know where you are going to find it, but once you are there, it is obvious that weaving through one-way narrow streets...
Read moreStopped in for a late lunch- first off love the setting! It was a breezy afternoon and I felt like I was on the beach with the breeze in my face the whole meal. Both the covered patio and the little courtyard garden area are very picturesque. Service was a bit slow but friendly.
We were seated with a small bowl of chips and salsa- rather small for 3 people but it was free so not complaining. My husband got some tacos that looked tasty, and I got the ceviche. It wasn’t served the way I am familiar with- in a bowl with a lot of juice and a lot of chips to eat it with; instead it was served over a salad with a few chips and some juice at the bottom. It looked like too much food so being over the salad actually lightened the meal and though I thought it needed lime I enjoyed it once I requested some. Fish was tender and the veggies were all good. Though I would have liked more chips the crisp of the...
Read moreI was visiting Puerto Rico and my wife wanted Mexican Food, I read reviews on Google and went to El Charro, I was very happy I came here. Great Food, I had the Nachos, Fajitas, and my Wife had the Burrito. The owner Kayla went out of her way to have my wife (who is vegetarian) try sauces so she could get that sauce in her burrito, we really appreciate Xtra, warm and loving service. Besides, the owner also called the taxi for us and while we were waiting for cab, she gave us a little box of dessert to go. So to sum it up, Excellent Food, Excellent Owner, Excellent Service. I am in business myself and I am much the same way, This place, El Charro is a Gem! Thank You Kayla for making our...
