Over the last year and a half, I have seen Candace for color services. I travel for work so I am often between two different stylists per year. I recently came back to town and booked with Candace. Prior to the appointment I requested information on whether or not she provided grey blending services since it was not listed on the website (and I was curious what my options might be). I also wasn’t sure if it was a service she provided as I had never booked it before. She ignored my message for nearly two weeks after reading it. I reached out again (after speaking to my stylist at home) and decided I would continue what we had been doing as I was not interested in a full color correction.
I provided the specific root color, color line, toner details etc via instagram prior to the appointment and again at the appointment. We discussed lightening my root color from 8N to 9N, and I said if it was too light for me, we could adjust it at my next appointment which was planned for low lights to provide additional contrast. I was left with brassy orange roots, and a darker, brassy toner. I did not receive the mini foil with baby lights that I had booked, and I did not receive the correct root/toner. I reached out four days after the appointment to ask about fixing the root color since it is brassy and orange. She responded by cancelling all future services with me which really caught me by surprise.
I decided to reach out directly to the salon owner for a refund. I wanted to give them the opportunity to remedy the situation before I posted a review. Initially I was going to return for the low lighting we planned, and have the root adjusted then, but she declined fixing it. The salon owner refused to refund the service stating a misunderstanding. Again, all of the details from my prior service were sent in writing prior to the appointment, and read again to her at the appointment. This experience has shown me that this salon lacks integrity and accountability for services provided, as well as respect for clients.

I'll attach pictures here for y'all, but I've been going here for (I think?) almost 3 years, and I've just never been disappointed. My stylist listens to me, gives me advice and makes suggestions that are best for me and my hair health, even when that's not necessarily what I was thinking when I walked in, and I love that. She's the professional, and I trust her. You should too.
Advice to be a good patron: be clear and honest about what you're looking for, bring a few different pictures of what you want, and make sure to have a discussion about what you're looking for and what the expectations might be. I see a ton of people complain that their hair wasn't right, but if it wasn't, you need to speak up! Advocate for what you're looking for and they can do their jobs much easier!
Overall, Tangles is amazing and the stylists put their whole heart into you when you walk in and show them the same amount of respect.
Thank you, Tangles and Kenzie! 🫶🏼

Read moreVery disappointed with our recent experience at Tangles. Our wedding party selected this salon as we’ve all previously really enjoyed our experiences. However, last weekend 3 of the 6 couldn’t say the same. We were met with a very negative attitude about our hair being too short for updo’s we were open to possibly doing other hairstyles just showing an idea/ inspiration while our hair was in the process of being styled any suggestion or questions asked was met with a negative response. One of the bridesmaids looked as though she was attending Coachella. Her hairstyle in no way resembled an updo of any kind. Our hair was falling before the end of the ceremony and we ended up having to restyle it ourselves. Luckily, Michelle killed the brides hair and makeup making her experience worth it! Thank you...
