To be honest, the AMC Victoria Gardens is firmly planted in the "adequate" category for me, and unfortunately, not much higher. If you're seeking the full modern moviegoing experience, this location might leave you wanting. Straight off the bat, the most glaring omissions are the lack of those oh-so-comfortable recliners that have become a standard in many contemporary theaters. Adding to the comfort woes, the standard seating in place isn't particularly impressive - think older school theater seats that prioritize function over plushness. Forget about indulging in in-seat dining here too; there's no dine-in delivery service available, which again, puts it a step behind the more cutting-edge AMC experiences.
Essentially, walking into this AMC feels a bit like stepping back in time. It's got that classic theater vibe, but not in a charming retro way, more in a "needs an update desperately" way. However, it's not all doom and gloom. Where this theater redeems itself somewhat is in the fundamentals of movie presentation. The screens are indeed of high quality, providing a clear and vibrant picture. Similarly, the audio system is commendable, delivering immersive sound that enhances the cinematic experience. And to their credit, the staff are perfectly decent - helpful, efficient, and generally pleasant in my interactions. Overall service is, in a word, satisfactory. They get the job done.
Ultimately, AMC Victoria Gardens serves a purpose for me, but it's not a destination I actively seek out. It's more of a fallback option, the place I reluctantly head to when my preferred theaters - AMC Dine-In Ontario Mills or AMC Dine-In Montclair - are sold out. If you prioritize top-notch picture and sound and are willing to overlook the dated amenities and less-than-stellar seating, then this theater is okay.
However, if you value comfort, modern features like recliners and in-seat dining, and a truly luxurious moviegoing experience, you'll likely find yourself disappointed. Decent, but not highly recommended. I'd only suggest this location if your options are...
Read moreSo I came into this AMC for the first time to see Insidious: The Red Door. The movie was really good and my experience was great, however there were a few things I noticed about this AMC which caused me to give it 1 star. This AMC is VERY OUTDATED, which is surprising being that it's located at the Victoria Gardens. I've been to the AMC at Ontario Mills many times (which is not the best AMC itself) and that AMC has reclining seats. The seats here at Victoria Gardens are very old, squeaky, uncomfortable, and most importantly DIRTY. When I set foot into this AMC it just felt very old and dirty. The employee that I had an interaction with was very nice, we had a small conversation when I ordered my pop corn and drink and she was very helpful. The concession stands are so filthy. There were about 3 or 4 soda machines and only one worked! There was such a long line for the hundreds of people trying to get soda. On top of that, there was NO ICE!! I had to inform an employee who was already busy taking an order from another customer that the soda machine was not dispensing ice. Now moving on from the soda machine, I went to get butter for my pop corn, and to my surprise the butter dispenser did not work. So I had to find and use a second butter dispenser. The butter dispenser station was so disgusting and filthy I started to wonder why I got butter in the first place and would I get sick. This entire movie theater is in shambles. It needs a major remodel ASAP, especially for where it's located. I expected more out of this AMC and was disappointed. I would never return to this location for as long as it looks and is operated in the...
Read moreI should preface this by saying I'm not much of a movie goer. I've been in a theater once in maybe 5 years? So I'm not exactly hip on what the kids do these days...
GF and I decided to go see a movie Saturday night. We walk up to the window and get totally ignored. There are two people at the counter on the other side talking, they see us, but we're ignored. After standing there for a minute we see a sign in the window blocked by the glare of the lights that says "go inside". It wasn't visible until I started walking around. And back when I did see movies you were blocked from going inside without a ticket. There is a register set up with a credit card scanner at the window, it clearly looks used.
So we go inside and I let the guy at the counter know that the sign isn't visible, maybe they should move it.
"Oh, that sucks, nothing I can do about that".
🤔
Okay, fine, "Two for Oppenheimer".
"Oh, we're not showing that anymore."
🤔
The movie poster is outside, we checked ahead for show times, and as I type this it is scheduled to play several times today.
So we walk out. Guess movie watching still...
