Updated review: I've been coming here pretty often since they opened and they've gotten consistently better, and I already thought they were a five star operation. More flexible pricing, a wider variety of food options, and more experienced servers equal an excellent experience. The only reason I can think of not to eat here is if you have very small children you have to pay attention to, or you are really not wanting to deal with the interactive nature of this dining experience. (Which I can understand, sometimes you just want someone to cook you some food. 😆) Original review: This was my first time here, and I was impressed. This is however definitely not your average restaurant; you cook your food at the table. If you bring children, be prepared to cook their food for them! It's also in all you can eat affair, so definitely bring your appetite with you. I have only tried the barbecue portion of the restaurant, there is also a hot pot portion of the restaurant which I'm going to try next time. Considering this restaurant is the first of its kind and has only been open for 3 weeks, the staff is remarkably well trained. I showed up to eat at 6:00 p.m. on a Thursday and by 7:00 p.m., the place was packed. Blazing King is unique in the valley, there's nothing else like it. Well you do have a bit more "work" to do than your average restaurant, would say that it's definitely worth your time to check out. Update: I've been back to this restaurant quite a few times since my original review, and it has become one of my favorite places to eat in the valley. I really enjoy the hot pot side as well, and in some ways I like it better than the barbecue side. You can get both at the same time, although your table ends up being a bit crowded.

I’ve never seen such a ridiculous restaurant—never! We arrived at the restaurant around 11:53 AM and found a seat to sit down. An Asian male waiter told us not to sit there and that we should wait at the entrance instead. After 12:00, we sat down by the window, but then a (rather overweight) female waitress told us that we still couldn’t sit there and had to move to another area. Keep in mind: we were the first customers, all tables were available, and none were reserved. She simply told me, “That’s the rule.” We decided to leave, but a few minutes later, a different (slim) female waitress, who had a much better attitude, served us. However, she forgot to turn on the ventilation system. Then, the food runners twice delivered the wrong number and type of dishes. I think this restaurant’s staff training is extremely unprofessional. I will never come back and will never recommend it to any of my friends!

Our endless love for Korean bbq and Chinese hotpot of course had to lead us here. And despite a few complains, I’m about to list (some of which aren’t worth taking stars off) I’m still saving this still to my favs, should I find myself in Palm Springs again. I AM COMING BACK. First goodies: Both types of pork belly: fine slices and thick sliced. Ice cream included with the all you can eat menu. Amazing service. Great sides such as just cooked konjuaku noodles, fresh seaweed salad, great daiko, etc. Wagyu for additional price. Complaints: Rice paper is weird: dry, almost feels old, or was frozen… smth is really off about it. Peanut sauce is labeled sesame sauce. Not cool. Dirty scissors! Like dirt coming off when wiped with a napkin! Very tiny music playlist. Like 5 annoying typical songs. We listened to the entire playlist at least 4 times….?

As residents of Rancho Mirage, my partner and I were eager to try the newly opened Blazing King BBQ & HOTPOT. However, our visit took a turn for the worse, leaving us deeply disappointed.

I recently visited Blazing King BBQ & HOTPOT in Palm Desrt, and unfortunately, my experience left much to be desired. While the initial wait time for seating was reasonable for a party of two, the service that followed was truly disappointing.

Upon being seated, the decline in our experience became apparent. Despite being seated ahead of a party of six, we were left waiting with menus in hand, without any acknowledgment from the staff. Even as the table of six near us was promptly attended to and had their orders taken, my party was left unattended for over 20 minutes.

Adding to the frustration, the lack of water or even basic courtesy during the wait was noticeable. What stood out most was the restaurant's policy regarding gratuity for larger parties, which seemed to influence the waitstaff's priorities. The table of six, subject to an automatic 19% gratuity, received immediate attention, while our table of two was overlooked.

The menu indicated that a 19% gratuity would automatically be applied to parties of six or more. This appeared to influence the waiter's priorities, as the larger group received immediate attention, leaving us wondering about the fairness of the service.

Even more disappointing was the waiter's apparent selective engagement. Despite making eye contact, the waiter neglected to approach our table, leaving us without answers to questions or guidance on ordering. After 20 minutes of patiently waiting, we reluctantly made the decision to leave and informed the hostess of our choice to dine elsewhere.

Regrettably, the lack of concern from the staff upon our departure was disheartening. As residents who were excited to support a new addition to our city's dining scene, our experience left us with no intention of returning to Blazing King BBQ & HOTPOT.

In contrast, our go-to spot, YouGrill in La Quinta, consistently delivers outstanding service and a more enjoyable dining experience. The disappointment of this visit only solidifies our preference for establishments that prioritize customer satisfaction.

In conclusion, the lackluster service, unequal treatment of tables, and overall disregard for our experience at Blazing King BBQ & HOTPOT left us with a negative impression. As much as we wanted to support a local venture, we cannot recommend this restaurant to others seeking a satisfying...

We came here for lunch on new years day 2024. They opened at 12:00pm that day. We were the first ones in the restaurant. We still had to sign up on the waiting list, and the hostess said she'll let us know when our table is ready. Seriously? All of the tables were ready. Literally no one was there. I didn't understand that at all. We waited a little less than 10 minutes to be seated.

When we were sat down, the waitress explained that for the all you can eat KBBQ, we were limited to 3 meat orders at a time. The idea was to avoid over ordering and having to pay extra for wasting food. I get that, it makes sense. A lot of AYCE sushi places charge for wasted food also. My issue is it took about 15 minutes to get the first order of meat, which between 5 people was gone in 2 minutes. Then we had to wait until we could order another 3. I understand the idea, but I think they need to make adjustments to their rule for parties of 4 or more, or at least on the first round of orders.

When the person that brought out the first round of meat came (not our waitress) I asked for rice paper. He turned around and walked away without saying anything. I'm sure he heard me, I was right next to him. I raised my hand, said excuse me, and nothing. Completely ignored.

The second round of brisket we got was completely inedible. We ordered from the cheaper menu I do admit, but we didn't want any of the fancier meats. Everything we wanted was on the cheaper menu. It was labeled that the brisket on that menu was a cheaper cut of meat. But it's sliced so thin, and cooks so fast, there really shouldn't be any issue. The fat was so rubbery and chewy we just spit it out.

We spent about 2 hours inside. The beef bulgolgi and garlic pork chop and garlic chicken were the best meats. The green tea ice cream was good. If I ever went back, I would just order those. But given the rest of my experience here I don't think I ever...

First and last time dining here. Overall terrible first experience which is sad as there are only a few Korean BBQ spots in the valley. If I could give lower than a 1 I would. First off our table was called and no one was there to seat us waiting 5 minutes after that to be seated for the hostess to say you can sit over there and pointed to a table not even walking us basically guessing which of the 5 tables to sit at writhing the vicinity of where she pointed. Then waiting 25 minutes after being seated for someone to approach us to take our drink order. Another 15 minutes goes by before she comes back to take our order which wasn’t even correct we were still missing items. After that was addressed the missing items still weren’t even brought out. Our meat got to the table but no one turned on the stove to start cooking which wouldn’t turn on (not their fault, wasn't mad at a that issue) but I was mad at the fact that the manager came to fix it and put the greasy burner in front of me on the table and then fixed it and then he left a grease puddle right in front and no one cleaned it or offered to do it and the table was greasy the entire rest of the night. Was there about 2.5 hours and was checked up on about twice. Took asking 4 people total, 3 employees and the manager to change the stove for it to not even be done. And then with another attitude the waitress tells our table to turn down the fire as if we know where that is located or how to do it. I get it if it was busy but they weren’t that packed and other people being served by other waitresses were getting served and checked up more frequently then and we were by the register so there was no excuse for us being far. Im a good tipper if there is good service just sucks that she automatically got a $70 tip for some very bad service. Will not be...
