We don’t understand how this place has accumulated positive reviews. There are too many good to great Italian food restaurants in the valley to justify patronizing this place. 2 stars only because the baked sausage stuffed mushrooms and short rib Sinatra were tasty, and the young man was attentive even though we were not seated in his section. We called in to make a reservation and were told we didn't need it. However, the young lady neglected to inform us that they were closing early for remodeling. Upon arrival we were kindly greeted and seated promptly at a large table for our group of 5. Alejandra was our server and brought us water while we decided on wine. She wasn't familiar with wine and unable to make recommendations. We ordered 2 bottles of wine. She brought the bottles then asked if she needed to serve us. I didn't understand the reasoning and reluctantly offered to do it ourselves. She was able to recommend food options and we ordered those items. Shortly after our food order was taken, she informed us that they were closing early due to remodeling. I asked how early, and she said soon within 30-45 minutes. This was very frustrating to all of us. We ordered 2 bottles of wine to start, an obvious indicator that we planned on a leisurely dinner. Not informing us over the phone when attempting to make a reservation, upon arrival before being seated or upon ordering 2 bottles of wine is unacceptable. I asked them to hold off as long as possible before beginning demolishing, creating dust and noise. When our food arrived, the pizza was okay, however the shrimp scampi and linguini with clams were severely overcooked, bland and the portions were considerably smaller than Alejandra had described. We hurriedly ate what we could and asked for the check because the construction team began demolishing. Alejandra brought us our bill and although our experience was the worst I can remember, I couldn’t bring myself to not leave a tip, so I left 10 %. As we were leaving Alejandra laughing made a comment to a woman coworker pointing at the tablet that I had just paid the bill with. I couldn’t make out what was said but assume it was negative about us. We...
Read moreWe've dine here many times over the years before Covid-19. They used to have the best lasagna with a huge portion with enough to take leftovers home for another meal.Tonight's dinner not so much. The portion was so small I finished it completely and look for leftovers from others plates to fill me up. In addition the lasagna was just ok, not the same great taste nor cheese I'm used to having. Disappointing to say the least. I'll give it one more chance because it has been so good in past I don't want to write it off yet. I'll update after my next visit..
3-18-25 Update. Took some out of town friends for their first time. 1st good news...walked in and got seated immediately. The menu hadn't changed, but the prices have. Just like any small business, it is rough out there trying to stay afloat. Although increase price still fair price in today's restaurant business. No complaint. Order 3 lasagna dinners. We thought we had waited unusual a long time, but it was dinner time. The lasagna arrives at room temperature at best...all 3. Couldn't find our waitress, so I flagged another waiter. He apologized and took the food back to the kitchen. Again, another unusually long wait for food to return. Waitress shows up with the three dishes. Again, it's still mediocre heat at best. We were so hungry we ate mediocre warm food rather than hot food after waiting nearly 45 minutes from the time we ordered. I asked to speak to the manager. The waitress came after we were nearly finished eating cold food and said he's busy. What do you need? After explaining the cold food she apologized and gave us a small discount. I wasn't really interested in a discount. I wanted a hot meal . I usually give a restaurant 3 chances before taking it off my list. However, after tonight's cold food and the manager is too busy to talk to a customer... I think...
