If I could give this place zero stars I would. I just had the most unpleasant experience dealing with the manager of this store. I have on several occasions seen her be very rude to customers and staff, but finally had the pleasure or displeasure rather of dealing with her. Right now you are currently running a 10 for 10 deal on pasta. So we took advantage of the deal and several of your deals. We usually shop here as we love to shop local and within the community. We were rung up by a very nice young man, who couldn’t figure out how to get the 10/10 deal to work. Another very nice young and competent man came over to help our cashier and because lines were busy he took us to the customer service counter to fix our bill. He was doing a fine job of fixing things and she came over and began looking at our receipt and telling us we were wrong. The gentleman who was taking care of us kept telling her that he was fixing it and that we were right. She kept ignoring him and then looked at our receipt and decided that she could only see 8 pastas. I explained to her they were already bagged and we could pull them out to which I did. She then yelled at me in front of the store and told me that she didn’t need me to do that that she was doing not saying she could count 8. We had over $100 in groceries that you lost out on because your manager wouldn’t honor a deal that your advertising. And not only honor it but actually embarrassed a set of customers that will not ever step foot in this store. I will be trying to contact someone higher than her as this is unacceptable in every aspect. If she can’t be kind to people why is she in...
Read moreI know people tend to leave only negative reviews, so I’ll start with the positive. The produce and meat here is usually fresher than the bigbox store. When we did get some rotten 2 for 1 pork a few weeks ago, they were very apologetic about it to my husband and replaced it. So keep your receipt until you know. That had never happened to us before. We stop here for last minute items a lot. Sometimes we still have to leave and go to Walmart anyway because the prices of certain items are up to twice as much. We just can’t knowingly pay 2x more. As far as the meat/produce I feel like you get what you pay for. About half the time now, staff has been super rude. Most times they don’t even tell me what my total is, so I’ve stopped putting my card in the reader beforehand. It’s odd. I was looking at the lotto ticket machine the other day, noticed a ticket at the service desk, not in the machine, but at the service desk only; I asked the lady (manager) walking by “Can I get one of these tickets?” And she said “We only sale tickets from the machine.” She either ignored me, she had kept walking as she said it, or she didn’t hear me when I said “But these are the tickets not in the machine.” Okay. Fine. No big deal. But then I had to run back in for something we forgot, and there she was selling lotto tickets from the service desk to another person! Like wow! Also, they really do have the longest, slowest lines, most...
Read moreWent today (9/12/2018) to the grand opening with the thought that the store would be equivalent to the old Econo Foods West store by WalMart in Burnside. First, the parking lot is awful and too crowded and also hard to park in straight (not angled) parking. Second, basically only white and whole wheat bread was available on the commercial shelves--no rye, no pumpernickel, no cracked wheat, no raisin bran. I was told by a corporate rep that there was some snafu with the bread distributor (poor planning for a grand opening--someone dropped the ball). There were only a couple of loaves of white bread from the bakery, too. Very poor limited selection of muffins--anything you want as long as its cranberry/orange or blueberry. No cookies from the bakery--just the same offering as WalMart and, of course, for a higher price. Free cake was offered to the customers, but the table was right at the exit partially blocking it, so if you didn't want cake you could hardly get out of the store. Just a smaller, more expensive version of WalMart and without the wide selection that WalMart offers and WalMart's lower prices. Very sad. Huge mistake by Spartan/Nash foods to close the west end store. This customer will only in the future shop the downtown family fare store for products not...
