Jenny Beauty Supply — Attraction in Rich Township

Ok so this is a long read ………… so I went into this store in Matteson on 06/28/25. and my 2 year old was throwing a tantrum in the store. As I was shopping he was crying ,this Asian man came to me saying why don’t I console my child. I explained to him that I already have. I am just trying to get my items and go back home. The Asian man then continues to talk to me about how my child has been yelling throughout the store and people have been complaining. I told him maybe he should talk to them and not to me . My child just wants to get out the shopping cart . I am not harming him or anyone else in the store, please go console the people that came to you saying my child is bothering them. Then he ended up going back and forth with me , of course I’m getting more and more frustrated till finally the owner of the store walked over. He tried to deescalate the situation however ,Once the owner came over and told the Asian man to leave, the Asian man told me to leave,” we don’t need your business”. You and your loud child can get out . I emptied my cart and walked out my other two boys looking scared and confused. I will not be shopping here again !!!!I suggest others in the Black community to do the same. Other races always want our money, but will not treat us with respect. As I was leaving the Asian man called me a Karen.seriously!!!!!! Every one that wants respect is not a Karen . You bothering me while I’m minding my own business, Doesn’t make me a Karen. You walking around...

Now let me start off with saying I went to Jenny’s for years and I only go to Jenny’s because they have variety of items and cool wigs, but the customer service is terrible. I wanted to try on a wig that I’ve been wanting but someone already bought but the Jenny’s employee went in the back to check if it was another wig and it was! I asked if I can try the wig on and she started yelling my in my face. “NO NO” you can’t. THIS ISNT IT also she put the wig behind her back thinking I was gonna steal the wig. THATS SO DISGUSTING AND WEIRD. And then she made this comment about my hair. “You have a lot of hair what do you need a wig for?!” That comment was VERY backhanded. If I want to wear a wig then I WILL. She didn’t want me to try on the wig but still wanted me to buy it. YALL ARE MONEY HUNGRY AND DONT CARE ABOUT THE CUSTOMERS. Horrible service. I’m traumatized and VERY upset . Go somewhere where...

The place itself and some of the staff deserves five stars. There's only two things that bother me. If your in the back by the crochet and braiding hair and there's an employee back there putting up product he will say to his co-workers how irritating it is that you "the customer'" are for being back there while he's putting up product. And don't ask this old guy any questions because he'll just say "it's over there". This has happened twice.

Then I asked this other old guy at the counter if they had it and he seem angry I was asking and the woman behind him throw up her hands like why are you asking questions.

This business didn't used to be like this. It used to be top customer service. Since the business is big now and a lot of people come here, professional doesn't matter.

So basically I can spend my money here but as long as I don't ask for help or ask...
