This is by far the worst place I have ever lived, and it’s entirely due to the management. I could go on for hours about everything our landlord did that was unethical, unprofessional, and at times even illegal. Instead, I’ll highlight just a few of the worst incidents.
First, the landlord allowed her husband and another man to enter our apartment without giving any notice. They didn’t knock, wait for someone to answer, or inform us in advance—they just used a key and walked right in. At the time, one of my roommates was in the shower. She came out, completely unaware, only to find two men standing in our kitchen. After this incident, all of us felt unsafe in our own home. It’s already difficult enough being a woman in today’s world, but our landlord made us feel even more vulnerable.
On another occasion, there was construction happening, and we were given the option to forgo parking in the lot in exchange for a $100 monthly rent discount. Since we were all broke college students, we took the offer. The agreement clearly stated the start date, but the end date was left open-ended stating “until further notice”. However, the landlord failed to manage her responsibilities, never officially ended the agreement, and continued to accept our discounted payments. When she finally realized her mistake, she tried to demand back pay for all the months she had overlooked, even though it was entirely her fault.
Then came the mold infestation. Our apartment became so toxic with mold that we were all getting sick. In the middle of the school year, we were forced to move to a different unit in the building. We had to relocate everything ourselves, without any assistance or compensation, from the bottom floor to the top. To make matters worse, after we moved, the landlord continued charging us utilities for our old apartment—even though new tenants were already living there. She was so disorganized that she didn’t even realize what was happening and then we brought it to her attention she took no responsibility.
When we finally moved out, she tried to take our entire security deposit and charge us for the parking discount that she had previously agreed would be covered by our deposit. When I confronted her, she gaslit me, pretended she didn’t know what I was talking about, and attempted to make it seem like we owed more money than we actually did—essentially trying to steal from us. Notably, none of our deposit was taken out for damages, which only reinforced how dishonest she was being.
Additionally, the front door lock to our building was broken for months, making all of us feel unsafe. I had to message her multiple times just to get a response, and when she finally did reply, she was rude, dismissive, and completely inappropriate.
I could go on and on, but the bottom line is this: if you are a college student—especially a female college student—do not live in these apartments. Your inexperience will be taken advantage of, and your safety will not be prioritized. Management is incompetent, unprofessional, and completely untrustworthy. Avoid this place...
Read moreI was nervous to sign a lease after seeing bad reviews, but I went ahead with it anyways. I thought the people leaving bad reviews were probably just bad tenants. My apartment was very nice, and I loved living there but would never resign my lease. The landlord has way too much going on in her life. She barely ever responded to texts or calls. The only way I could reach her was by calling the emergency maintenance number or showing up to her office (on the rare chance she was actually in there). We had problems with our dishwasher and refrigerator, which eventually got replaced but the process was frustratingly long. Other annnoyances included getting our locks changed, getting packages lost/stolen, snow removal, cold showers, and mold. The landlord was a very nice person, and got along with my roommates and I very well. She liked us and the way we decorated/kept up our apartment so well that she used it for pictures and several tours to prospective tenants. When questioning about move-out inspections, she told us that we had nothing to worry about - that our apartment was in 10x better shape than any of the other units. After we moved out, she tried to blame us for losing a set of keys. She also took hundreds of dollars off our security deposit return for “cleaning” and “painting.” We have been calling her several times a day and leaving voicemails, but have gotten...
Read moreIf I could give this apartment complex zero stars, I would. To start things off, when we moved into the apartment there was mold in every room. When we told the landlord, she told us that it our fault because there was no mold in any other apartment. Later we found out that our next door neighbor and the apartment above us had it as well. Five months after, they finally pained over it when they hired the new (awesome) maintenance man, in OCTOBER. In exchange for having these issues and having the ac unit year round, she told us that we would have 2 months of our utilities payed for, still have not seen the second month. Parking is atrocious, they “guarantee” parking but if you get back to the apartment after 9:30pm, you’ll most likely have to park on the street or down the road. They say that the building is sound proof but you can hear everything, the people who live above you and people walking on the street. Quality of the appliances are not the best, the poor maintenance man can only do so much. If you’re considering living...
