I want to give a huge shout out to Sixth Chamber Used Books on Grand Ave in St. Paul. They welcomed my dog and I with open arms when we were both suffering the effects of the heat today. They happily allowed us to stay in their location for 2 hours while we waited for husband to come and get us. If you're looking for a book, or even if you're not, please stop in and give them your business. They have a great selection of books and I was able to find one by my favorite author I hadn't read yet. If there's a book you'd like that they don't have, let them know and they'll call you if it comes in! They have excellent customer service and I cannot say enough kind things about Betty, who got us water and made sure we were as comfortable as possible today. They welcome all well behaved dogs and humans, so go shopping there with your best friend or participate in one of their many community activities. Thank you in advance for shopping this great local small...
Read moreIt's just the best place ever as there's a treasure trove of interesting books interspersed with new children's toys and "doo-dads" for adults. Was in yesterday and spent all but 3 cents of my store credit. But I left with 2 books for "my " children and 2 amazing catalogues of digital art photos. I promised my graphic designer neighbor she could go through them before I cut them up for my Soul Collages. They also had copies of 2 different Soul Collage books that were of interest to the friend I was shopping with.
Another great thing is the readings and children's programs offered regularly. Lastly they have a great bulletin board and selection of community event flyers which i always pick up and pass around. I even got info about a board game group which meets at a toy store in my neighborhood. That there is a dog who comes in sometimes is a...
Read moreWhat a find! River Falls is so lucky, this store is a total gem. The gift selection is amazing, it's my new go-to for teacher, nurses, and other similar appreciation gifts. Also the toy gift selection is on point, there's always something special for the kiddos I am shopping for. Local jewelry, candles, quirky and whimsy, I love every inch of this shop, it emotes love and kindness with creative window displays and wildly fun activities for the community like storytime, letter writing to Santa (at-hem, Santa writes back if you mail your letters here!), and the inspired Buckthorn Academy magic school (their take on a Harry Potter type magic and mystery school). Game nights, book clubs, and probably so much more.. Used book selection is excellent, there's always something for my basket, and I enjoy the brand new books...
