Public Storage — Attraction in Roanoke

Update (Aug 2021) - Now on my 16th month renting the unit and received my 2nd rate hike (now $171/mo, started at $146/mo in Mar 2020).

Signed up 5 months ago (Mar 2020), paid online advertised price and after 4.5 months (July 2020) into contract they increased my rate by 15%. I understand yearly rate adjustments based on market demand, but they still advertise the same online price that I signed up with 5 months ago on their site today for the same unit. Not sure how they can justify increasing my rate that quickly while they still advertise the same online rate on their site. I was an excellent customer for 3 years, but will never use public storage again. I moved out on the 1st and was charged $183 for a full month. None of the emails they sent regarding my move out notified me of this. The lady I spoke to said it was in the lease, but as I said that was 3 years ago. Not only did they increase my rent by $83/mo over the time I was using the unit, but now they have charged me that already ridiculous price for an entire month that I’m not even using the unit. We arrived at our storage unit to find a new lock in place. We had received a message stating that our unit was not properly locked therefore the lock was changed, but upon opening it, we found our previous lock on the floor. It had been cut off. When we called to follow up with this and we were told that somebody broke into multiple units and they did not believe they stole anything based on watching the camera, but they had been inside of ours.
