Deccan Spice: A Culinary Journey to the Heart of India I recently had the pleasure of dining at Deccan Spice, and I can confidently say it was an extraordinary culinary experience. From the moment I stepped through the doors, I was transported to the heart of India, thanks to the restaurant’s warm ambiance and the tantalizing aroma of authentic Indian spices. Deccan Spice is not just a restaurant; it’s a testament to the passion and dedication of its founders. Their mission to share the rich and captivating culinary heritage of the Deccan Plateau is evident in every dish they serve. The menu offers a delightful array of authentic and flavorsome Indian cuisine, meticulously prepared with authentic spices and Zabiha Halal meat, ensuring every bite is a true taste of India. One of the standout features of Deccan Spice is their specialty in Hyderabadi cuisine. The dishes are a perfect blend of traditional recipes and modern culinary techniques, resulting in an explosion of flavors that leave your taste buds yearning for more. The use of fresh, high-quality ingredients and the absence of MSG further elevate the dining experience, making it not only delicious but also wholesome. For those with dietary preferences, Deccan Spice is a haven. Their vegan-friendly options are as diverse and flavorful as the rest of their menu, ensuring that every guest can find something to enjoy. The staff at Deccan Spice are incredibly attentive and knowledgeable, enhancing the overall dining experience with their warm hospitality and genuine enthusiasm for the food they serve. Their Executive Chef, Harman, was INCREDIBLE! He should get a HEFTY raise! In conclusion, Deccan Spice offers a dining experience that is second to none. It’s a place where the enchanting culinary treasures of the Deccan Plateau come to life, allowing you to savor the essence of India with every bite. Whether you are a fan of Indian cuisine or trying it for the first time, Deccan Spice is a must-visit. Prepare to be amazed by the incredible flavors, the rich cultural heritage, and the impeccable service. A visit to Deccan Spice is more than just a meal; it’s a journey to the heart of India.

TLDR: Highly recommend, super flavorful, super rich and deep flavors, extremely satiesfied, will return. Update Jun 28, 2025. Came back after months and still great food and great service. There are a few new things on the menu that we need to come back sooner to try. We forgot that the food is so rich that it really fills you up fast. We bought some to go orders to take up to in laws as well. Love this place. We've been looking for a good Indian place in the area for awhile and can finally stop searching. We stopped in on a random Tuesday evening. Service and food were both great. The chef/owner was super kind and helpful. You can scan the QR code on the back of their menu for more in depth dish descriptions as well as pictures of the dishes. Temperatures were starting to drop so we were craving some spicy spice for our meal. I apologize to the business now because I can't remember how to spell the name of two of the dishes we ordered but they were really good. The portion sizes look a little small but everything is so flavorful and rich that it will fill you up. Everything is made from scratch, no pre-packaged spice mix or sauce packets. We first started with a spicy fried chicken dish. It was at the top of my wife's spice tolerance but we both really enjoyed it. For my main, I ordered a spicy goat stew type dish, again, super flavorful and somewhat spicy. The meat was tender, fall off the bone, but still juicy. My wife ordered butter chicken. The sweetness of her chicken balanced nicely with the spiciness of my goat. We also ordered garlic Naan and bullet Naan. They do not skimp on the garlic and both Naan were thin with great texture. The bullet Naan I think is supposed to have some spice....but to be fair, we had pretty much saturated our palates with spice on spice that I couldn't tell if it was spicy or not. Lastly, we had a mango Lassi, which the owner's wife made. This is a nice thick texture, smooth, and not overly sweet. A very good compliment to our dishes. Come check this place out and chances are you'll want to return. I believe the chef/owner mentioned he was from Southern India but their menu has dishes from all over.

Short in one line: love the food, the place and the service! Hands down the best Indian restaurant in terms of quality, taste and ambience ! First I tasted their food at a birthday party and just fell in love with the taste and quality ! No exaggeration the best malai kofta I ever had! Hands down! I have tried it at so many places it’s either sweet or too hard dough filled koftas! But here I was so surprised that the koftas were all made from scratch with pure paneer that taste so heavenly and just melt in the mouth ! I am a big fan of Gobi and every place I have been to has it tooooo soggy or salty ! This place has the best gobi dishes like karampodi gobi, pachimirchi gobi that are just made to perfection ! Coming to non vegetarian dishes, love their pachimirchi chicken, as an appetizer and with pulav too! Chicken sheek kababs just melt in your mouth! Their mutton ghee roast pulav is to die for! Their Gongura chicken, Gongura mutton , avakai chicken are just mouth watering. Chicken dum biryani and mirchi ka salami! Ughhhh out of the world! You can tell how fresh the meat and even the spices are! They have the best naans with the right amount of butter/ garlic / green chillies! Must try their bullet naan. Their Mango lassi is the only one I don’t mind taking a pill for my lactose intolerance for! So creamy and not at all powdery like all other places ! Can tell the quality of their rice after eating at so many mediocre Indian restaurants who load even their plain white rice with baking soda! Overall it’s a feast to the eyes and to your pallet ! One thing I would want to call out is how clean even their restrooms are. Very well maintained and I hope they keep up this quality and standards.. Thank you so much for the extraordinary experience and reminding me of home!

We went to Deccan Spice for the first time yesterday. I was very excited because there are not many Indian restaurants in this part of town, it's one of the first I've seen that specializes in Hyderabadi cuisine, and this one seemed to have many positive reviews for such a short amount of time.

Starting from the name (For Food-o-Holics) to the wall decor, we had a very positive first impression. The owner, Mr. Ganga, was very nice, answered all our questions, and gave helpful suggestions. We first ordered Mutton Ghee Roast Pulav. It is one of the most delicious dishes we have had at any restaurant. It was hard to decide if the rice or the mutton was better.

We also ordered chicken chettinad with garlic naan, which were both extremely tasty. Both of these dishes have flavor profiles that are different from what you'll find at other Indian restaurants. The garlic naan had some cheese on it too, which made it even better.

My husband, who isn't a huge fan of Indian restaurant food, loved the pulav so much that we went there again tonight for dinner. (He didn't give me a choice, he just drove me there!) This time we also ordered DS Spl Mutton Dosa.

The dosa is filled with really tasty mutton curry, which is neither too liquidy nor too dry. Everything we have tried here has been really good so far, but the Mutton Ghee roast Pulav is a definite keeper. We will order it every time along with trying something new.

Additionally, the service today was also very good. Mr. Ganga was not at the restaurant, but he saw us on the restaurant's video camera and asked his wife who was at the restaurant that we are repeat customers and to take care of us.

Overall, this restaurant is a must visit if you want to have some delicious Indian dishes that are hard to find at other...
