Tacos Azteca — Restaurant in Roanoke

I went to Roanoke to visit friends and was hungry. I decided to go back and try Tacos Azteca. I have been here before and thought that had some good food and wanted to try them again. They don't post prices on any of the boards they have up unless it's a special. I saw they had tostadas with ceviche for 5.99 but they don't say or show the dish. Anyway, I ordered 3 tacos with choice of meat. I got the pastor, which is marinated pork. It cam with rice and beans that were kind of bland sides. The tacos were very good. The marinated pork had a great taste and it was topped with diced onions and cilantro. I also got a glass of horchata which I usually always get if it's available when I'm dining somewhere. This place is located next to a convenience store gas station as you enter Roanke. It looks to be an old restaurant that they took over. Overall my experience is mixed in that I wish they gave you more options to with food and have to order other sides that you dont want. They serve all kinds of tacos with choice of different meats. Burritos, menudo, posole, tortas and a variety of other combination plates. They never have menus and the boards show no prices so you need to ask if your curious how much they are. Google says they close at 7 o’clock we’re here at 6:40... they saw us pull up and decided to lock the doors and turn off the open sign. There are people still inside working with food on the counter in to go containers waiting for GrubHub. The lady even looked at my spouse in the eyes and said that it’s close despite it being 20 minutes before listed closing time online. Now we are going to drive to Northside Fort Worth to some good quality legitimate taco place that is not run by people afraid to work until the time they committed to.

I added an edit to this review in response to the owner that made a very dumb reply to my post. Keep in mind I stated that we were locked out of the building before we even got out of our vehicle to approach the doors, yet the owner states that they have “video and audio of us acting a fool inside”. This is clearly an indicating sign of them refusing to acknowledge their lack of responsibility and trying to defend themselves with a lie. Their response is more humiliating and comedic than...

I'll give them 2 stars because they have tamales and pazole while other tacos places in the area do not offer such. Otherwise this places is a joke! There have been at least 4 times we have tried to go and they haven't been open during their posted regular hours. I'm not talking like 30 min before close either, HOURS before closing. They always forget food items and have to wait over 20 min for those items to be corrected. They never have horchata available! One time we actually were able to visit we sat at the front for 15 min for someone to acknowledge us to get our pick up. We tried to do breakfast today and waited almost a hour for it to be made, a hour!! I've been to a lot of other taco places in and around the area, even sit down, and have never dealt w the type of aervice...or lack of that this places consistently provides!
