I would like to add another disturbing encounter with the security officer who is VERY visible at this Aldi. I had just finished shopping and walked into the self checkout area with my own bag and forgot to get another item. Without even starting to check out my items or even putting my bag next to a checkout scanner, I turned around and went to the produce section to look for a missing item. I was then confronted by the security person who started to lecture me about Aldi's policy after completing a check out. I informed him that I did not check out with my items, and was continuing to shop. It seemed like he did not believe me and continued to lecture me about Aldi's policies after checkout.
I have shopped at other Aldi's in the area (Newport, Waxhaw, Pineville, Indian Land, and Charlotte). None of those Aldi's has a predatory security guard who seem to profile certain customers.
I understand that Aldi is trying to combat rampant theft. Just having a visible security guard is a deterrent in itself. However, having a zealous guard who is quick to assume someone is stealing and confronting that customer, even when the customer is still shopping, is a bit much.
After reading the reviews on the Rock Hill Aldi, I'm not the only customer who had an issue with this guard, and I'm sure I will not...
Read moreDelayed Message I question (what the could be taking place after closing) because of the two guys mentioned below(bad behavior and poor merchandise/food handling are best friends).
I have not been to this store for a few months due to the horrible horrible experience(s). The guy with the long faded pink/blue shoulder length bang this past winter/spring and the older security guy are hopefully no longer at this location. The guy with the faded pink/blue shoulder length bang was so horrible that I would rather * (not put any items from this store in my refrigerator)* or (anywhere else in my home). Both where so horrible that I question what the could be taking place after closing because bad behavior and poor merchandise/food handling are best friends
No thanks Aldi and if ths has never been addressed please...
Read moreUpdate: Quality control has been much better over the last year and on my last visit (May 14, 2020) they even had someone wiping down the cart handles for you as you entered. Shelves were also pretty well stocked thanks to all the great people WORKING here. Older review...Great prices, but poor quality control. Quality can go from one extreme to the other. This has happened with several products and usually happens when they change vendors. Beware of slight changes in packaging. For example their spaghetti sauce was extremely rancid / rotten for at least 4 months before being corrected... and their butter pecan ice cream had moldy inedible pecans for at least a year before corrected. Competitive with Lidl -- both have some...
