I have finally made the decision to stop shopping local. My recent experience at Action Camera has fueled this decision.
The people here are generally really nice and very helpful. I've always tried to buy or rent something if I go in there and utilize someone's time. I'm not a big commercial spender but I have spent close to $10k here.
I understand and respect their policies and my review is really just a reflection on the market and why I am choosing to no longer shop local.
First- I've never gotten a deal here. I've really overpaid many times, and it was ok because I was supporting a local business.
Second- I've never gotten information here that I didn't already find online and most of the time I've gotten better information from the internet than from the pro's in the store.
Last- the return policy is just absurd, especially when taking the above 2 things into consideration. I tried to return an unopened item and was told no. I understand its been a couple months and there policy is 7 days. What really bugs me is that they didn't even consider the return with a restocking fee, or store credit. I would not have had this issue if I purchased from a web based store.
What bothers me the absolute most of all this is I overpaid for the item, and when I tried to return it they specifically said "oh we definitely wouldn't return that the way the market is on those things."
So let me make sure I understand your business model. You specifically over charge and don't have the integrity to stand behind it when someone wants to return something even if its unopened and they are willing to take store credit..... got it.
I know I'm just one person, but when you finally get squeezed out of the market like many stores did when Wal-Mart was on the rise and again now with Amazon. The only person to blame is yourselves and...
Read moreRecently, I decided to switch from using a roller camera bag to a backpack camera bag for traveling. I was reminded of how convenient it is to have a fully stocked local camera store like Action Camera in Roseville, CA. Choosing the right camera bag is important for making it easy and convenient to carry and access your camera equipment. When you buy a camera bag online, you're relying on product descriptions and reviews to make your choice. While these can be helpful, it's not the same as actually trying out the bag for yourself. At Action Camera, you can see and handle camera bags in person, and even try them on for size. This can help you get a better sense of how well the bag will fit your equipment and your body, as well as how easy it will be to carry and access everything. The knowledgeable staff at Action Camera can also help you choose a bag that meets your specific needs and preferences, based on their own experience and customer feedback. Overall, shopping at a local camera store like Action Camera can offer several advantages over buying online, especially when it comes to camera bags. So, if you're in the market for a new camera bag or any other camera gear, I highly recommend checking out Action...
Read moreFantastic local camera and video business that has been around for 30+ years. I have a video shoot that came up through my business this week that I needed extra equipment for. I got zero help from BestBuy, Walmart, Target, all of the big stores in our area, lots of waiting on the phone and automated systems. Pete and Blair were very patient with me at Action Camera, they have an excellent selection of equipment that can be browsed online or in store. I even had to step out for 30-minutes for a virtual meeting and when I came back they resumed exactly where I left off in the ordering process. Solid customer service, great selection of video and camera equipment, and fun store environment to look around. If you are on the fence of whether you want to buy your gear from a big name store or locally, get it at Action Camera. Not only do you speak to an actual person who genuinely cares, they actually use the equipment they sell and have portfolios to...
